Boy, the masses are restless! LOL

This is the first time I have used either of them. I've had Soiree for a while, but last year, I don't know why, but they didn't do so well. I wondered if one group had a symptomless virus. But they're back in full force now. Olina I got recently from our MN chapter Lily society, and this is the first year for bloom.

I really only started hybridizing year before last, so my first blooms will be this season with some aurelians. (I don't start things indoors under lights.) But I do have some (hopefully) interesting crosses coming down the line.

I grew Lilium szovitsianum from seed back in 2003 and this has been the third year of bloom. But I only have one and it is self infertile and never sets seed. It's always the first lily to bloom for me. On a whim I dabbed some martagon pollen on its last flowers, and I have pods!!! I am very excited about the prospects. The two lilies are so different looking. The pic below is Lilium szovitsianum. And szovitsianum has foliage different from any lily I have seen. I remember the first spring I had it planted out in the garden: I wondered if it it was a weed!

Other ones of special interest to me is L.m. 'Amelita' x L. 'Super Tsing', 'Ilga' x 'Stellar Light' (seed not mine), L. lancifolium var. flaviflorum x L. 'Kentucky', L. 'Madam Butterfly' x one of Pards seedlings, 'Sweet Surrender' x Dots and Dashs' and 'White Henryi' x 'Red Dutch'.

Today a first seed sprouted of Lilium leichtlinii from the Ooyama Toyama Prefect in Japan!

It's really beautiful, and a spectacular photo.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

You do have some neat things coming down the pike Lefty. That photo above is so crisp and pretty. Just an amazing photo of a lovely flower. I especially like the reverse, what I see of it, it's like chocolate!

This might have strange lighting...but it is 'Rosemary North' this morning. The North lilies have the nicest recurved petals. Dr. Chris North did a wonderful job with these lilies. Truly unique, each of them.

'Peggy North'is great. Must be one of the harder to find ones.

Here's Cathedral Windows. Wish the poppy had matched better.

'Paul Bunyan', it was a must have for my love of the Northwoods. I think about the treasures of the northern forests and lakes each time it blooms.

I'm wondering if 'Pink Giant', 'Pink Tiger' and 'Pink Champagne' are all the same lily. I know the first two are, but the third, I may have to do some digging. I like the last name best....

All, so lovely. Love the pots photo too, Susan. Glad you posted it in the wrong place.

And those North lilies are all so precious.

Wonder why they named that one Paul Bunyan? It looks very dainty.

I don't drive due to vision problems, so it's nice to be able to put the driveway to work. Moby keep telling me to get rid of it and the garage so I'd have more room. Tempting....

Is Iowa Rose very different from Pink Giant? Looks maybe darker. What about the size of the flowers?
