I really like these wild New England Asters, big time aviator attractors in the fall.

Well, maybe I jumped to a conclusion on the cause and effect with the powdery mildew and the disaster with the asters.
Both things happened but that doesn't necessarily mean the first thing caused the second thing.....

oooh yeah, colored pollen! blue is my favorite but I don't have a pic of that findable right now...
how about red?
Thumb of 2015-09-11/dirtdorphins/1bd54a

The thing I like about stalking bees is that they cooperate so well because they are so busy working they don't care about some human taking pictures...they just do what they do. Butterflies and hummers, on the other hand, run away from me so I usually get frustrated and go back to taking pictures of that which is still in front of my face...the busy bees Hilarious!

I just heard some good news on the news - government is banning use of some pesticide because of bee population endangerment.

Critter, can you repost that link in the News Articles thread for people who are "watching" that thread for news? I'm trying to compile most of our news articles in one thread so everyone can go to one thread for information that affects our bees, butterflies, and birds. A lot of us get stuck in certain threads and miss things in threads we don't follow but would probably like to know about. And if you guys aren't watching that thread yet, go ahead and put it in your watch list! Thumbs up

Hi everyone! I told you I would mark my calendars and remind you that on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 8 pm EST, you need to tune in to Nat Geo Wild for their show "Destination Wild". This episode's description is as follows: “Disney Nature: Wings of Life” Premieres Sunday, September 13 at 8 p.m. EST Meryl Streep narrated this 90-minute special about winged creatures. “Wings of Life” gives an intimate and unprecedented look at butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, bats and flowers. A third of the world’s food supply depends on them, and they are increasingly threatened."

Bird, butterflies, bees, and Meryl Streep! This is a 90 minute special so adjust the rest of your life as needed. I'll be posting this in all the monthly and ongoing threads because we all need to watch this! Feel free to tell other forums, too!

I read that in JaggerBowie voices. And just laughed.

And along those same lines, so many people recommended the book, Confederacy of Dunces to me. And I just hated it. Couldn't get through it... UNTIL..I started reading it in my head using the Comic Book Guy voice from the Simpsons. That really worked ;).
