I do love the butterfly weed and so do the critters--
the practically obligatory, color-coordinated aphids that come along with it, though, I am not particularly fond of

Aphids certainly are disgusting little creatures, but I guess they've a niche in nature for some reason. They usually are prolific on fall goldenrods around here.

Yes, aphids are disgusting. I guess they're here to feed the ants?????

Mantids creep me out too although they certainly have their place. I'm just not fond of looking at them.

Mantis is lying in wait for a Silver Spotted Skipper, there were a bunch around and on the Golden Dew Drop plant.

Those are the most beautiful bumble bees I have ever seen. Fabulous shots Dirt!

That's an unusual looking (to me) mantid Jack. Good photos. I can't find the mantid in the one with the skipper though --- but I'm never very good at that. Those darn mantids are so hard to spot.
