Ken, if the seedling does not ramify on its own, then nipping the terminal apex will make it ramify. You want the branching to occur very close to/on top of the caudex so nip the terminal apex at a very young 6+ weeks old.

Rick, it is truly amazing about the long-lasting blooming on this one. Supposedly one should not uplift/transplant blooming DR's until after blooms are spent. I ignored this caution and transplanted into gritty mix and cut the leaves...this did not seem to affect her a bit. Also, I believe that providing some shade when blooming allows the flowers to not fade and to last a longer time that when in the sunshine and rain.

Oh yes, orchids...I have one dendrobium that had multitudes of flowering spikes during our [winter] that lasted 4 months. Big Grin
