This was an impulse purchase. It is from the Royal Hort Soc in Britain.
I am assuming that it is an Asiatic? The packaging does not say?
It appears to be white/cream with pink lines and a yellow center?
Has anyone grown this one? or know what it is?

Oooh...Good choice! One of my favorites. Bonbini is an Orienpet (Oriental Trumpet hybrid)

I don't have a pic of mine on my laptop, but if I have a chance, I'll post one later. I've grown it the last three years in pots. Then I un-pot and store the bulbs over winter in my lily fridge since they won't survive my winter temps outdoors. One good thing I've been told when I do post the pic is that the pink "star'"inside is much more pronounced due to our cooler summer temps. Apparently it is not as distinct in warmer climes.

Not sure how cold you get in Calgary so perhaps someone else can pipe in with its actual winter hardiness.

I think you'll be pleased with your impulse purchase!

'Bonbini' is an excellent choice. I'm not sure what you climate is compared to lily grower Lynette Westfall of Valley K Lily Ranch in Canada, but it seems to me that OTs do well there with mulching, she is located 1/4 mile south of the scenic Battle River Valley, southeast of Camrose, Alberta, Canada. She's a great person to have as a reference in your climate, as would the folks at the Lily Nook.

We are warmer here and what I get here is pictured below. I'm sure you will find this lily most pleasing, I know I do.

Your replies are encouraging.
It really does have that star !
I'll need to mulch or else lift and refrigerate the bulbs in fall.

It is good when impulse purchases turn out !

I'm noticing Bonbini DB pics, some up-facing, others out-facing and some semi-down facing. What causes this?

I would say that those positions are within the range described in the register description which is up to out facing. Normal for Bonbini. For a mature plant with lots of blooms the lowermost blooms may be forced a bit downward. Usually the uppermost bloom(s) are upfacing.
