I know it's awful Kelli. I'm so sorry. I know how it feels for every day to be Groundhog day.

Hi , I am brand new member to All things Plants. Gave up on Gardenweb ....it is just dead there ever since Houzz took over .

Well here in south western Ontario we are about as dry as California at this point . working on our 3rd month no rain and none in sight for the next week anyway. Gardens look dreadful and I am cutting everything back to 6 inches .....no point the plants trying to keep dead foliage alive ....... I feel like I live in the armpit of Canada. Way too much rain this spring made a sludgy muddy clay mess .......and now when we could use some .....there is nothing . Ground is as dry as the Sahara and digging in it is like digging in cement . Cracks in the ground are so big you can lose your foot in them . I would move in a heartbeat if it were possible.

Welcome! Hi signet, nice to meet you, I think you will like it here at ATP, it's a great place to hang out with a wonderful group of people that love to garden.

Sorry your weather conditions have been so horrible, I hope you get some rain soon.

Welcome, Signet. I understand the dry and ground like cement, though we don't get cracks in the ground.

I also understand drought but do not get cracks in the sand that we call soil down here.
I hope you get some wet stuff very soon!

Margaret, such cool weather in your neck of the woods.

It felt really cool here this morning but not that cool. Hilarious!

Thanks for the very nice welcome from all of you!!!!!!! I think I am going to like it here once I figure out how to move around in the site. Very different from Gardenweb.

Still no rain , but what is it they say about gardeners? Gardeners are ever hopeful. So i am sitting here ( not really , I am still digging ) being hopeful that we see rain sometime this decade . If not I am going to have to get in touch with our present prime minister and let him know my views on his Global Warming policy ( it appears he doesn't have one it seems) and let him know I will be sending a bill to him personally when all my plants expire . Maybe that would have some impact.

I know I know I am dreaming but boy it is frustrating to watch all my plants turn brown . We are on a well you see and I simply cant water the almost acre and a bit of plants in the gardens .

I wonder if I can ask someone .....I tried to post a couple of pictures but when enlarged, they come out pixelated. Can anyone give me some pointers please.

Margaret , ohhh that sounds downright chilly. We have gone from 20 C. degree mornings to 7 or 8 degrees (celcius) almost overnight . Mother Nature is sticking her tongue out at us I think . We usually stay pretty warm here right up to November but it has been one crazy year weatherwise this year.

NewyorkRita, I wondered where you had gone ......used to lurk mostly on daylily forum on GW and read your posts all the time . Nice to have found you.

We are having the same temperatures here in Eastern Ontario, and thankfully, we are getting regular rainfall, with rain forecast for Monday and Tuesday. I know how stressful drought is when on a well. We had a terrible one a few summers ago. Some friends of mine resorted to having huge plastic tubs of water trucked in to keep there gardens going. I hope you get rain soon.
My only suggestion for the photos is to post them in a higher resolution. I hope that helps, or maybe others will have more ideas.

I was a die hard regular on Gardenweb for many, many, many years. But I just loved it on ATP so much that eventually I stopped going to Gardenweb. Now they have sold it again and I don't like it at all.

Really chilly here this morning. All windows closed overnight and I had thick blankets on the bed and a sweatshirt on now.

They are calling for a high of 94F. I'd like some rain, too. Even temps in the 70s would be nice.

Signet, we are at an altitude of 3500 feet, that's why it is so cold. Last night it was -2c/30f degrees, today is sunny, expected high 14c/58f.

There will be an eclipse of the moon tonight, 7:11PM my time. Smiling

I watch that show on TV called Buying The Rockies. And those houses are way up on altitude in the Mountains. Lots of snow and cold!!!
