Chelle, Those are some pretty pansies. If you wanted pasies for the fall would you start them now? Any tips because I'v had very little luck so just buy plants. Crepis rubra never heard of it, will it winter over? Very nice!
Allision send me info in a t-mail and I will get those out Monday.

Nope, it's a hardy annual.

I don't know about fall pansies - we typically go straight from hot to freezing in autumn, plus, I always forget to start them. I'd guess maybe mid-July?? Mine were about 10 weeks from pre-sprouting to blooming.

Pansies are funny creatures. Here's a pic of one that survived last winter and is trying to take over this entire planter! The planter is about 4' x 7'

edited to add: the flowers look a bit bedraggled because it's been raining non-stop the last few days. Sigh.

They're pretty here in the cool weather in spring and fall. But once our summer heat arrives, they bolt. Temp was in the high 80s today.

that's one nice thing about my shade.. they don't usually bolt until aug. .. and usually recover for fall right around the corner

Lucky you. My best results with pansies have been Icicle brand. I plant in fall, they're beautiful. If we have a mild winter, they occasionally flower in winter. They've even popped up through snow melt. Then they're pretty in spring, croak in summer.

I put mine in an area that gets morning and evening sun/light only and they do great until August... Smiling ...( in the shade of the house from say, 10:00 to 6:00).

Had a bad internet for a week or more , just now catching up

Wow those coralbells are beautiful and so many .I will be careful when starting from seed to not plant a hundred seeds Smiling
I did that once with foxglove, it is so easy with the dust like seeds.

Chelle , I agree that plant looks like a dandelion , afraid I might pull it with out looking closely Rolling my eyes.

Hurray! Looking good, Springcolor!

A few from my gardens...

W/S red salvia - before groundhog...

W/S Black Peony poppy, (with rose 'City of London').

Pre-sprouted indoors. Double petunia.

I neglected to pinch this plant so it probably won't fill my basket nicely, but its blooms sure are pretty. Smiling

Lucky setting - these two appear to share the same colors, just differently. Big Grin (They're not really the same shades, but they look like it in the garden.)

Love the red salvia!!! Did the groundhog kill it, we don't have those here. Your poppies are beautiful and blue gray foliage to set them off. Lovey dubby The double petunia is pretty, too much rain here for those but love to see yours!

No, it was fine and full of blooms again this morning. They are, of course gone again this evening, but, oh well. Snow Nymph must not be yummy, so far they haven't touched those.

Now, they're *pinching* my petunias as well... who knows, it may end up helping in the long run. I sure don't get them done. Whistling

This tall white nic. has come up as a volunteer in one of my pots and is lending it's beautiful smell to the whole potting complex in the evening.
