Love those dark poppies. I don't have good luck with poppies here for some reason.
Here are 2 dahlias from seed:

I've been ordering my flower seeds from Crosman Seeds(Rochester, NY)since 2009 the first year I tried Wintersowing. Their prices went up to 99 cents this year but used to be 59, 69, 89 cents a pack. I've always printed the order form off and mailed my personal check. They process your order the same day they rec'd your request. I've had seeds in less than a week's time. Everything I've ever ordered and grew from them germinated and did well. They don't carry many of the new varieties of flowerseeds, stick mostly the the heirloom types; I call them old standby flowers. Even with the increase in price per pkt. it's still a wonderful price. They are not skimpy on the amt. of seeds they put in each pkt. Try 'em, you'll like 'em!

Chelle, I hope your son is feeling better. I had asked you a question about clematis seeds..

Pippi, I haven't had germination with clematis seeds, yet. I thought I did once, but it turned out that it was a cleome. Hilarious! Some say to stir up the dirt (and seeds) in your pot from time to time...I'm not sure why, however; most just say plant...and wait. Three years for germination sometimes.... Blinking

Lin has grown at least one from seed; maybe she knows a special trick or two. Smiling The thread "Question re: Clematis cultivar Niobe" in Clematis forum

Yes I have, Karen.

I think for the last three years, but for sure the last two.I got nothing last year, and this year a stray cleome seed sprouted...I was pretty excited until I noticed the leaves didn't look right. Rolling my eyes.

Duane, WOW! thalictrum, asclepias, dierama are these hard to grow! They are all beautiful. What seed source do you use of these.
Here are some of my babies from the greenhouse.

springcolor---I rarely buy seeds from seed sources. I usually just trade with other gardeners across the country. From "gardenweb" seedtrading forum. But now that I found this place, maybe more from here. I do buy veggies and zinnias, though.
