I don't follow Martha Stewart, don't need to feel stupid because I don't fold my fitted sheets right, but I thought Café Au Lait's flower was amazingly beautiful. I ordered it from Swan Lake along with several others, hope it's not too late flowering for here. I have to stop looking at the pictures you all are posting, I'm done ordering both peony roots and dahlia tubers for now! I think all 5 that you posted are beautiful, Karen.

Karen - Tartan is so wonderful and I love it just as much when the colors change to more wine, less white.

Lisa - River's Dahlias was where I bought Tartan.

Geof, are you sure the dahlia of your Avatar is Mingus Gregory? It does not look anything like the pics of MG on the web. Your Avatar flower is much more beautiful than MG, IMHO. Oh, I am so glad that you mentioned Cafe Au Lait as a late bloomer. I thought it was me! I did not get one flower until early September. They are filled with buds now but seem so slow to mature and open.

Arlene, do you still have Tartan? This is one dahlia that does not produce many flowers but each one that opens is just as breathtaking as the next. They were all different for me.

Thanks, Liz! I look forward to see some of your dahlia blooms next year.

I had a bad year I do not have 5 blooming. The only thing that bloomed is a Noid I picked up at a off price store.

Karen - I lost Tartan during storage, much to my dismay. I'll buy it again.

First I will confess that I don't grow Dahlias. My available room for flowers is crowded with Roses, Iris, and Hostas. If I were 20 years younger and my body was in better shape I would give them a try. I do however try to see Dahlias whenever possible. There were a number at the Utah State Fair Shows and today was the Utah Dahlia Society Show. If I did start growing them these 5 would have a place........

The last one is Tomo.....I corrected the picture. I have seen several specimens of Ketchup & Mustard at shows this year. Often on the awards table. It must be a good grower.....

I bought Cafe au lait and I agree it is over rated. It was not the hues in the advertisements and few flowers. It didn't even bloom this year.

Looking at all these flowers, few really seem to stand out as unique like Ketchup and Mustard. Don't get me wrong, they are gorgeous, but so many are soooo close to others with different names. So no ordering for me in the future until I get the number on hand down through attrition and then I think Ketchup and Mustard will be first on the list.

Beautiful dahlias here and I want them all! Definitely going to be expanding my dahlia plantings next year.

My Gitts Perfection was a huge disappointment - too pale - not even a trace of pink and I bought it from Swan Island and trust they sent the right one.

THe color is so different from the photo from Paul. Wonder why there is such a huge difference. The pics of the two dahlias from Paul are really gorgeous.

Cinda, I love your two noid dahlias too. They are so beautiful, love the colors on both of them. It's too bad you don't know what they are because I really like to add them to my garden.

I saw Gitt's Perfection at one of the Utah State fair shows and at the Dahlia Society Show and there were multiple lovely entries. We were all taken with the color which only counts for a small part of what the judges look for.....Just Married was very nice also

Karen - it could be genetics, the weather or the soil. I will grow it elsewhere in the garden next year just to test it.
