Very pretty! Wish we had trees that produced pine cones, instead of just fallen leaves! Hilarious!

I have now expanded this idea into a Christmas project. If I can find some large pinecones I want to paint them red with yellow centers for a basket of "Poinsettia". And maybe add a string of white lights. And you could also do silver or gold in a black basket also with lights. Oh the possibilities are endless!!!! Once my mind gets going....lol. Thank you for the nice comments and the acorns!!

Suga, visit the Francis Marion forest, where the Long Leaf pines have enormous cones. The Clemson cones are a cute idea for a CU fan like my niece, I may have to make a basket of orange and purple cones for her.

Suga, what a wonderful project ... just beautiful!! Thanks for this great tip, perfect for any time of year; I really like your idea of painting large pine cones red and using the little white lights for a basket of poinsettias!

I agree And here I was thinking just the other day, what I was going to do with all these pine cones in my back yard. I've been using the around the edges of pots as a tree rat deterrent.

Great idea! Thank You!

There's got to be some kind of cross pollinating out there. Nah, something more simple.
