I have several "outdoor" shoes, couple pair of crocs and old pair of sneakers. My dogs haven't decided to chew any of them up, yet. I can't be outside barefoot because of hidden dog poop.

I use to love wearing flip flops in the garden until we moved here and the red ants bit me between the toes, very painful, Angry now I wear socks and keep an old pair of running shoes in the mud room. Blinking

No, those don't look like our fire ants. but they DO look savage. Ouch is right!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown

I wish I could go barefoot, but it's not such a good idea here. We have Rattlesnakes, don't see the big guys very often, but we do have Pygmy rattlers that sometimes venture into the yard and they can be a little harder to spot. Fire Ants...Yes, and with all the tree's twigs. Which can hurt like the dickens if you step on one. And I'm always "On a mission" it seems and not always looking down at what I might step on. I have Sloggers in 3 styles, keep something at the back door and on the front porch. In the house tho...barefoot, I don't even like to wear socks except in the winter.
God gave us wings. He just called them horses
