You 'sold' 4????? Congratulations. I sold nada, nothing, zilch. Something must be broke!! :0)

Wait until you join a "theme" swap, with a wildflower or Texas-native theme. You might be scribbling extra labels at midnight of the last day to mail them out to the Host!

So far no one has requested any of the seeds I'm most proud of. But some found good homes!

Uh-oh. What's this talk of "Labels"? I missed some instructions somewhere. I did the sharpie on a ziplock bag thing. Hope that's OK. At least you will know those are mine and can tree mail with questions or for replacements if you need.

I agree, I think the theme swaps will be even more fun...and I have a feeling with more streamlined interests, there will be a lot more competition for particular items that are deemed the 'new and different' items.

I'm still somewhat debating if I want to make my January swap themed or not; but I think, for now, it will be a general one, like this--only larger because it's open to everyone so all ATP members can get in on the fun--where all seed types are encouraged. After hosting my first swap, I may choose to narrow the field in some way for my future swaps. I wonder how all of that will be handled. I'm eager to see the 'dashboard' that will be created for hosts.

four items last night............right? I mean, the number was 4 yesterday and 4 today. So I'm assuming that net difference (of ZERO!!!) is tonight's 'sales'.

Guess who printed her labels a little too big for her zippie bags....arghh...I just got everything to fit on them now I have to do fancy cutting with the paper cutter. At least you won't have to try to decipher my terrible handwriting.

Hilarious! Hilarious! I would have done that, but... I typed up the info and told my husband what size they needed to be for the little ziplock bags and he did the rest! Perfect fit! I am sure I could take you on in a bad handwriting contest.

Don't feel bad. the first swap I joined, no one wanted my seeds. Everyone else had seeds that I hadn't heard of and had to look up!

luvsfrtdanes, I am so happy that you have Mirabilis jalapa 'Marrakesh'. I bought a pack of those the first year I was starting seeds/gardening. None germinated (I learned later to late winter sow mirabilis in February). I have been looking for that cultivar ever since! I picked up two packs of mixed variegated four o 'clocks last year and only got
white ones! My favorites, limelight rose, got eaten by slugs/deer/something when I put them in the garden.

It is ok! Smiling You made less work for yourself. Any seed I was interested in, I searched for the info about where it grows naturally, growing conditions, etc.

I noticed my page said I have 42 items listed in the swap when I actually have over 90 seed packets offered. Must be 42 kinds of seed that is calculated, not how many of each.

Yes, it is. I have about 50 packets, but apparently of only about 23 or so varieties.

>> I am sure I could take you on in a bad handwriting contest.

To win the "worst handwriting" competition is going to be PRETTY difficult!
I thought I had the edge, but I guess we would have to go head-to-head to see.

I dread even writing one person's screen name on each packet. To be LEGIBLE?? Clearly Dave never saw my handwriting. I'm planning to print out every name I owe a seed packet to, cut to size, and insert inside each Zip-Loc.

HAND-written names? On plastic??

I make seed labels to fit 2x3" Zip-Locs by always using my standard template in an MS Word doc. It's a "table" with a rectangular cell for each label, and aligned so I can print double-sided.

Handwritten labels from me would make you think I was using the Greek alphabet. With fractional lambdas!

When my husband made the labels, he put in a line to write the names on. For me to be neat, I have to write r-e-a-l-l-y slowly. The neatest name on one of the packets is one a child did while I was typing something on the computer.

I had been using recycled envelops (from tea bags, etc) for seeds. I graduated from handwritten to computer labels. After last year's piggy swap had enough! I picked up zippie bags from Walmart (when they finally got them in stock). Lots of seed swappers, or crafters, or meth distributers must shop at Walmart. My neighbor was teasing me about purchasing drug paraphernalia while in the checkout aisle - I told him they were for his tobacco seeds! I am surprised they didn't send security after me to the parking lot!

I have been using Avery templates - major pita because they don't work well with my older laser printer. I have an inkjet printer for color, but the laser printer is so much clearer in small type.

I'll have to try a table in word....any tips for setup?

I want these seeds packed up, ready to go, and out of my messy office!!!

I still have things drying and I agreed to take in a kitten today.

Kitten + little cups of seeds = yikes!
Kitten + milkweed drying in big paper gag = indoor blizzard!!!!
