I can also see some (dahlias) that will not make it outside. Others are slowly 'beefing up' and new growth is showing. I have flats of annuals to go between but if I don't get them out soon they will be gone. We had several days of clear skies, 80 degrees and absolutely gorgeous. I worked several hours in the botanical garden taking GPS coordinates, pictures of blossoming plants and accessioning some new ones. They had their annual plant sale the 28th and I bought some that seem to thrive in the garden there so may do well for me.
I sunk another pot and planted seeds in to for buttercrunch lettuce. Am noting on the tags when I plant seed then the date they germinate. I can use those tags to figure out next year's schedule for planting (succession). I am also looking for spots to plant the new peonies arriving this fall. Bit by bit I will reduce the available ground for dahlias and annuals. Still want them and probably will be much happier to not be so stressed about them each spring. Just a few of my favorites or a new one or two that comes along.
