Baumunk was still trying to register a name for it when it first showed up on Stout's site. Maybe he pulled back his introduction.

I think that's what happened. I asked Stout about this iris and he said there was some registration or naming issue. Apparently Baumunk jumped the gun, not having checked the registry. Stout also mentioned it was still just a seedling and not yet available for introduction, and that everybody was asking for it already. Drooling

Hugh's YouTube video on hybridization shows it in a seedling field near the end just blowing in the wind. I noticed it a while back. It just stood out.
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

And if you watch the Master Gardening video that follows the Stout video, then you will see my friend Dennis Dreyer who lives here in Western Kentucky, and who has gifted me with many Irises over the years. Dennis is on the Board of Directors for TBIS.

Liz,
That's El Greco. A close up of one in the clump that was just shown before. It's the one that Gabriel above was referring to.
Merry Amigo does tend to "flare" its falls which is one of the reasons it's so popular.

Oh yes I did see that close up of El Greco but right after this is a really bright magenta colored luminata that caught my eye.

Liz - I think it was Montmartre. I am not at my computer where it is easier to pause and replay but my first thought was Montmartre which can look quite bright.
