OMG, Shape and Mrs. S, wow I am just truly amazed each and every time I come to visit.

I love that you are looking into a magazine spread! Wishing you the Best of luck in finding one.
Another good magazine is called Backyard Gardening...it' for landscape design with lots of DYI plans and such.
OH my gosh I'd probably scream with delight should I ever see your Conservatory in a magazine!!

Oh and I am a little curious about what your neighbors think, You know, do passerby's stop and watch? LOL, I know I could watch for hours.

I love that one picture with the car in the drive, it really gives a fabulous visual at the scale of the project.

Also in the fountain area, you did not miss a thing, The photo in the frame, someone you know? and did you also make the tiny frame?

Can't wait to come back and see your progression!!
Smiling Hurray! Hurray!

I'm so glad I came across this thread! @Shape, your attention to detail is incredible, and results stunning! Your wife is fortunate to now have her conservatory to garden in.

You are very talented, and I hope that your project gets a spread in one of the gardening magazines!

I've been doing research about how to start miniature gardening, and now I've been inspired by your work to start this spring.

Truly amazing!

Great pic of the two of you, and good luck with the magazine thing. I know it would be a very popular article. I wish I could drive by and stop for a look!

Roman ruins!! Wow. That's going to be another beautiful miniature spot.

I never really was interested in miniatures till now. Seeing yours my mind goes in a dozen different directions. I keep thinking of the Greek ruins too, those still standing on the rocky hillsides. The walls of Egyptian hieroglyphs and lotus topped columns . . . multiple doors are opening every time I come to this thread.

Thank you for sharing it all with us, I think you already have an amazing following. I tip my hat to you.

Dang, just now discovering this forum! I need to redo my mini garden to weather and critter-proof to prevent future damage. I was hoping to gather a few ideas and I wasn't disappointed! My mind has been blown on this thread alone, and I've yet to read through everything!

Shape, I'm keeping track of your progress from now on! I hope your wife knows just how fortunate she is to have a husband as talented and giving as you!

Miniature Garden creations are endless...I lean towards 1/6 scale because its bigger and easy to work with...Every foot or 12 inches is equal to 6 foot in this scale...The mansion ruins i want to build will have 2 floors about 36 scale feet high..So its going to be roughly 6 foot tall....The tower next to the mansion will be around 9 foot tall..About 54 scale feet high..These are just ideas at the moment..I want to show you something you could build that would be easy and i think its what your picturing in your mind....

What a wonderful statue! Did someone have a garden at your place before you bought it? I can see how that could be the catalyst to get your creative juices flowing. That is how I work on my mosaics. I find something that gives me the entire idea in my head.

Shape, I'm looking forward to seeing how your ruins will turn out. It's exciting that the statue was found in your own backyard, to give you some divine inspiration Smiling

What's the scale of the angel in your picture?

She stands about 14 inches tall..So in 1/6 she is around 8 ft tall..She will sit on top of the mansion tower..This will be so much fun making ruins...
