Oh, my laundry room isn't that large. I think about 8.5 ft x 5.5 ft. I think the thing I disliked about it the most was the shelves above. They caught everything, anyone didn't want to put away. And cloths hangers everywhere along with the bottles of detergent and softeners. And shoes on the floor behind the door. YUK. I really didn't like going in there. But after I cleaned everything, painted the walls, painted on my shelves, I like it a lot better. And I love my baskets. One holds the hangers , one the bottles and things and one is for me to throw my garden gloves, hats, etc in. The thing that is so wonderful, is that since I re did it two years or so ago, no one throws their junk in there anymore.
When we were first married, my washer and dryer were in the lower garage part of an upstairs garage apartment. It was so dreary (and scary.) To brighten it up, I could have taken a pretty bed sheet with flowers on it and nailed it to the wall behind the washer and dryer. Then taken a board and cut it the size of the flat part of my dryer top. Covered the raw board with a towel or foam stapled around to the underside, and then used the pillowcase that matched the sheet on the wall, to slide the covered board into. That would be a cool place to fold clothes. Hmm, I may do one of those for my tile table.
I've gotten too old to hang around in dreary places. Wonder if I could train Buttercup to fold clothes when she visits?
