Love the list of hardy salvias Lisa! I snap them up as often as I can. For red, we've been planting S. splendens 'Bonfire' (annual here and maybe everywhere). This year we added S. darcyi 'Vermillion Bluffs' and were really pleased with it. The foliage scent was especially addictive. Its hardiness here might be marginal, but I really hope it returns. I don't know how true the offspring will be, but I still have a few gathered seeds left and will add a small packet to this swap.

@deejay49 - Here's another (annual) blue salvia: Salvia (Salvia patens 'Blue Angel'). Just one pack, I'm afraid.

Searching might be easier if you go to the "Access the full tradelist for this swap" link and enter "salvia" as the search term. Two pages of salvia offerings come up!

I'm knew to the world of flowers/vegetables and my friend is asking for some from me for a mostly shade location. Part of it will get morning sun. Does a few of you know what flowers you have that will fit the bill!! There's so many to look up and I need to still add all my seeds for trade. Thanks!!

Wow you don't know how many seeds you have until you need to list them and count them!! I took a break, almost done with half of my vegetable seeds. But I still have herbs and flowers. I'm not paying attention if they are common or not. Just listing them in case someone wants it!! phew....

What a neat system Cheryl!

Mine consists of random boxes. E.g. a shoe box of bean seeds, a Ramen noodle box of squash seeds. Wonder if there would be less Ramen in the house if there were fewer seeds in the house Confused

This is my seed storage system.
Thumb of 2016-01-01/ishareflowers/37b286. My husband made this using scrap wood. It is 9 inches by 25 inches long and holds my collected/traded seeds.

This for my commercial seeds, its just a clear bin 16x23.I have things filed alphabetically. I have slips of lined paper in each envelope with what is inside for easier pulling of seeds when packing for a swap.

I have two of these dollar store crate things, one is veg., and the other is try to grow this year{yeah right!}.
Thumb of 2016-01-01/ishareflowers/bac1b9. I don't grow veggies but I do buy them for others in my yearly Comm. seeds swap.

Neat!! I try to be organized...don't look at my yarn or fabric. They are not as tidy as my seeds!! It's all a work in progress.

Happy New Year everyone!

@JonnaSudenius - I just made a tiny packet (~15-20 seeds) of Ruschia pulvinaris that I got from Alan Bradshaw (http://www.alplains.com/) in 2015. With a little luck, my babies will bloom this spring, and I'll have more seeds to share another time.

BTW - The 2016 Alplains catalog came the other day, and Alan is (gasp!) thinking of easing into retirement Crying I'm happyfor him, but what about ME!

@MrsBinWY - Michelle, that one is on my wish list since long. Are you offering the packet in the swap?

I would be a loss if Alan retires. He always has very special rock plant seeds

@JonnaSudenius - Hi Jonna. Yes. I just finished adding it. It went under the common name of "Shrubby Iceplant" with the binomial of R. pulvinaris. I was so pleased with how the little guys germinated (like nearly 100% if not 100%) last year and grew. I hope they make it through the winter. Alplains only rates them to Zone 5, while he rates Aloinopsis spathulata as Zone 4. I sure hope you get dips on this one Smiling
