After reading Horseshoe's blog entry about his tractor driving mailman, I really do not want to miss any future entries he makes, even by a few days!

I can use all the Rolling on the floor laughing I can get!

Dave, is there a way to "watch" a blog? Or is this on your to do list?

I need to get on it. That's been low on my priority list for some time. Glare

I'd love to encourage Shoe to make more blog posts by knowing he has people "watching" for updates! I liked reading his stories on Sharon's writer's forum on Cubits!

I try to remember to click the Blogs tab to check who has new entries -- but I have become so used to seeing the thread updates, I admit that I don't think to click the tabs very often unless I see a red Mail tab. Whistling

Thanks Dave!

Maybe Dave could make the blog tab turn red when someone makes a new entry into their blog? Whistling

Is there a way to sort the list of blogs alphabetcally by author's name?

Also, in forums, is there a way to view only threads with "New? = YES"?
Or sort threads by date of most recent post?

These pages can't be sorted automatically by the user. The forums page shows you all threads whether they are "New" or not.

Lastly, the sorting is already by date of most recent post. Smiling

Just wondering if a Blog Watcher has moved up your to do list?

It would be great to have a box show up like the thread watcher.

I think it would also encourage the writers if they knew "x" number of people were watching their blog.

I have not checked out everyone's blog, but Sharon and Horseshoe's new blog entries always brighten my day!

Not trying to be confrontational, but how would this be better than watching a person's blog, like we watch a forum or a thread? If the tab turned red, it would be for anyone making a blog post, wouldn't it? That would happen frequently. What if you only want to watch certain blogs?

I'd like both...watch a blog, and have the tab turn red when anybody posts to their blog. Would save me checking it a dozen times a day Big Grin

On DG, we could set a blog to watch and when it was updated, it would pop up like a d-mail, set apart from the threads and d-mail. At least I think that's how it was.

Okay, well, it only took me 3 months but the Blog Watcher is finished!

When you are viewing someone's blog, at the top of the right-side bar you will find a link for "Watch this blog". Click it and then from there out, anytime their blog has been updated, you will be notified on the homepage just like the thread watcher, tree mail, etc.

Moreover, you can now see who is subscribed to your own blog through your Blog Control Panel.

Keep in mind that this watcher is brand new, so it'll take a while before people start watching the various blogs.
