Ugh Sally, from the way that article reads, it sounds as though I'll have creeping woodsorrel forever. I better start liking it now...

Alrighty - pot will be brought in this weekend and added to the Jungle indoors. Rolling on the floor laughing The girls will be so excited when they get home and get to see the new improved Amazon 'look' to the house.
“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

I will have some big plants in the bedroom this year. Many medium ones ended up in the library. Thumbs up Thumbs up I even got brave and took a floor plant sixe begonia, manager loves it!
Large cane type begonia from Gita, maybe this
http://www.logees.com/begonia-...

The small succulents might go in the downstairs sunny window. Now that plants are getting settled, I see how many extra plastic pots I have- umm.. not QUITE as many as Gita, Green Grin! but..a lot... I HAVE to save every odd size in case it's perfect for a certain non-draining pot, basket, or other thing I don't like planting directly into. And Realllly like having the exact size/shape pot for whatever plant I decide I M U S T separate or pot up any given day of the year. Y'all understand! nodding

Yeah Jeff, Diamonds, and woodsorrel, they're forever....
Plant it and they will come.

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Sally--
The Begonia you pictured probably was from me--as Olga used to have this
and I got many starts. She simply called it "My Spanish Begonia" b/c someone Spanish gave it to me.
YES! tryly. this "Sophie Cecile"...(thanks for the name) grows like a weed.
I have several of them--as well the BIG one.

The Begonia that I have had for decades--also an "Angel Wing"--the one I always
keep on my front-door steps--also grows huge--but slower. It is the one that I have now had since 2005 (through endless propagation) but the leaves on it
have pretty smooth edges and are speckled with silvery dots--like someone
sprayed paint on it. The underside is meat-red--like the others.
I have shared this as well.
Thumb of 2016-10-28/gitagal/1cd367

The third Begonia I have had forever is the "Beefsteak Begonia."
It also has been re-incarnated (from cuttings) many. many times.
I think it is the prettiest of all the ones i have. Had it since 2005.
Just this morning==I chopped the coiled, far stem of it back closer to the plant. Of course--I will try to root this one too--as it has a nice crown of leaves already. The Beefsteak roots easiest from leaf-stems just in water.
Got a few going--always available.
Thumb of 2016-10-28/gitagal/330f7e

My guest bedroom is full of begonias--moany right on the bed.

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Lisa--my "sleuthing" for pictures has a structure of sorts.

All my photos are in "My Documents"--"My Pictures" folder--but under a Sub-folder that holds everything by Month and date..
When a new month comes along--I make a new folder--
like in a few days--there will be a November Folder.
In my uploading of pictures "system"--I will also have to change WHERE they are uploaded. Right now--it is still in the October Folder.

Lisa---
Now--for me to find a certain picture, I have to refer to my Steno Pad where I make note, (with month and date), of good pictures, or significant pictures
or anything else that i MAY want to get back to.
Then I have to flip through this memo pad to, hopefully, find what I am looking for.
Like--if I wanted to find pictures of my CC's--I know they will be in a November Folder. Just have to scan all the Novembers. The Memo pad helps.
This may seem elementary--but it is what I use and have used since 2005.
I know that you computer whizzes probably have a more technical way.
I am used to this system--so no explanations of better ways--please.
I AM curious of the ways you all do it--just run it by me.

I took the day off today to work in the yard. I dumped a scoop of topsoil out to level the ground near the shed where that swale was. I compacted it all with a tamper, laid several stepping stones at the entrance to the shed, and put out two scoops of mulch. The mulch ran out so I there is another scoop sitting in the truck right now. I'll post up some pics when it's all finished.

Sally--
I may disappoint you on seedlings this year. Not gonna do too many--
if any at all.. How's that???? I just don't want to deal with all the seedling stuff --it is just as easy to by a market pack from a nursery.

The only seeds I am going to try to grow are these beautiful, small, yellow Zinnias. I had them all summer. They are SO pretty...
Got them at Chapel Hills in a 4-pack. They were such eye-catchers!

Also--waiting impatiently--for my Moon Vine seed pods to ripen so I can
get the seeds out of the pods. NOT ready yet! Bummer!!!!!!!!

I will just wait and see what grows next summer and be happy with it....

Still trying to give away my large "Queens Tears" plant....Any takers????

Here is the cute, short Zinnia. Been picking out seeds that seem mature--
a very tedious process....hoping they will germinate and grow.
If not--I got them last summer in 4-packs.

It looks SO nice. How much mulch do you think you've put down , in a year, say?

It gave me a concept today- sweep a line around my yard and everything behind the line gets mulched, or paths, or a flagstone patio, or plantings. In a way, the yard becomes the defined shape and the beds are all around it.
Reality- I don't think I'm up to all that work- right now...
Plant it and they will come.
