I too, have had the same issue with the speed up in the temps that results in my spring plants wilting. My wife and son bought me a raised bed greenhouse for Christmas that may help me in that vein. I put it up yesterday. I may be late for this year but next year it will be ready. I had to build a base for it as my garden is built with cinder blocks and the unit needed a wood base to screw in the supports.
When it gets hot, I will put a cover over the top of it to shade the plants from the sun and open the sides to allow air flow. Not sure it's going to work this year but I thought I would test is out. I took pictures of the unit in place and the box in case anyone is interested.
This is a year of transition in my garden. I have many structures to build and what seems like less time to devote to it than last year. I do what I can when I can. Not stressing as eventually, it will all be completed. In gardening, you just have to take the long run approach.
