Last week was my "50% last Spring frost date". And we had one day go over 80F.

We barely HAD any frost this last winter!

That's not fair, Rick!

We barely had any 80-degree days last summer Hilarious!

I just took inventory of my containers. My protection strategy seemed to have worked! I only saw a bit of frost damage on Painted Daisy and one other thing I can't remember. Didn't seem to lose anything! Next five nights will be right around freezing. Days high 40s or above. Then it should all be smoothe sailing! Weekend looks great. Hopefully a few more things will sprout.

Sorry, Sandy! I'm farther north than you are, but milder, much milder.

Weed----there are mosquitos in the northwest especially in the summer. And everywhere else on this planet except maybe the north and south pole. Hilarious!

No, I haven't had a mosquito bite since I moved here from New Jersey.

Every few weeks some really big old thing LIKE a giant mosquito comes bumbling around, but it never even settles on my skin.

Maybe it's only the coastal PNW, or only right near where I live (North of Seattle).

That is just plain unnatural, Rick!

After living up here for so long I no longer get any reaction to the mosquito bites, they are just extremely annoying Sticking tongue out

I have a brother-in-law in Everett, and he says they spray for mosquitos quite a bit there.

I have a feeling that lots of places will be spraying for them this year, due to the Zika virus.

Hi All,

Does anyone have any suggestions on size of pot for potting up milk jug seedlings? Some I like to grow in a pot for a bit before i put them in the ground. I'm trying to be more conservative w/the potting soil I use, as I used to use little 3 inch pots, but I'm wondering if I need to use pots that big? I may want to give away/sell some potted plants, so there's that too. Anyway, I've been looking at possibly buying whatever would work best. I've always re-used what I had in the past. So, would I be looking at plug trays, plug sheets, tray of pots....sizes? Or maybe just get more of the 3 inch pots? Thanks!

Ok, so I just looked at the prices at a supply place near me, and that's not happening. I'll check out that greenhouse megastore prices.

If you are keeping the pots outdoors the tiny pots will dry out.

Judy, so you think I should use at least the 3 inch pots? They will be staying outside. Thanks : )

Ann I would definitely use at least the 3'' pots, even a bit bigger if you think the plants will be in them longer.

So I winter sowed snow peas but looking online I should've direct sowed them oops. Should I leave them in their containers? One is a milk jug and the other is a slightly deeper but smaller circumference pot.

Now I'm wondering what others I should've not done Confused
