Thanks Jim. Thank You!

Dendrobium HonoHono has buds! It didn't lose all the leaves on the canes - just the bottom half. The nude half has buds. My HonoHono is confused. Or I am. I was told all the leaves would fall off the canes and then those canes would set buds. Hmmm... Half right. The only other thing I can say about this plant is that it takes a lot of vertical space. It is in a 4 inch plastic pot hanging upside down but most of the plant is not in the 4 inch plastic pot. I asked when/how to repot and was told: "don't bother". Hmmm... again. The plant is a 4 foot long bundle of roots and arms sticking out of this 4 inch pot. Intriguing - probably why I brought it home when others were shying away. Smiling

This is Blc. Mary Jo McNerney. She blooms twice a year now. Where some of my orchids take four months or more to progress from sheath to flower, Mary Jo only takes only around three weeks. The second picture is what her flower looked like in Jan. 2015. This one in almost-flower is a division of that Jan. blooming plant. She has a nice fragrance.

isn't it amazing how some plants are so fast and others..just glacial? I have always checked my benches a couple of times a day and in that span of time SO MUCH GOES ON!
Ken, very pretty and delicate colors on that one!

That's my favorite thing about going away on a trip - coming home and seeing all the changes and growth in my garden, and the orchids especially. Well, coming home is awesome all by itself of course.

Speaking of "anticipation" I am on tenterhooks this week, expecting the arrival of another granddaughter. I'll be on the plane to Salt Lake City any day now, I hope. House sitter, and everyone else is in a holding pattern awaiting The Call.

'Danny Adams' obviously wanted to move to Florida, Lindsey. Maybe it bloomed for your sister while you were away?

Can't wait to see that show coming along!

Yes, Elaine..It does look like there was a spike while it was in Miami...it was purchased as a 2 for 1 from Kawamoto and was just a little squirt when I got it way back then.

After I stay with them for a week, I know I'm way too old for chasing toddlers. I look forward to sitting on the plane all day to get home.
