The wind is gusting to 54km/hr (34miles/hr).
This is a glorious shrub, Hibiscus splendens. It has lots of seedlings which I give to the native plant people.

Hippeastrum ORANGE QUEEN coming into flower with a noid flowering in the background.

This iris is everywhere on the island.

A Grevillea cultivar probably 'Coconut Ice".

I gave this daylily clump to a friend and it has opened before mine. TRIAL BY FIRE

The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

Glen the plant species are endless over there. When we thought we have seen it all you pop something new on us. That native Iris is a cutie.

Glen is your native iris what we call walking iris Walking Iris (Neomarica gracilis) or Walking Iris (Neomarica candida)? I have some, but hesitate to plant mine outdoors, although the database says that it's hardy to zone 8a.

Deebie, you are right. It is not native here. The iris people say it is an African iris, too, Neomarica gracilis. I like the name Walking Iris. That is just what it does!

Snapped this pic just before leaving for Kentucky this morning. I was already backing out when I saw it and had to get out and take it!! A rebloom on my Autumn Circus

And we had frost this morning and it was still good
