As I was listening to the radio on the way in to work this morning, the topic was the lottery and how it sparks a lot of dreaming and conversation about what one would do with that kind of money. I know I wouldn't really want to change the way I live, just have enough $s for the family to live comfortably. Most of all, I think it would be wonderful to be able to do what you want to do with your time without having to worry about full time jobs that are in no way your passion in life just to pay the bills. With this jackpot, there is so much above and beyond making yourself and your family comfortable that can be done. It would be hard to decide where it would do the most good. St Judes would be high on the list for me.

Yeah a dream indeed Holly. It's fun to think about for sure. I still haven't bought any tickets. I was talking with my wife about it this morning and I think I would choose the annuity option. It'd be nice to get $50 million a year for 30 years. That way you get more money too because you lose a bunch if you chose the cash option.

Yes, I think I would be very comfortable on 50 mil a year. Rolling on the floor laughing I also laugh at the people that complain about having to cough up maybe 1/2 of the winnings for taxes. Yes I would be very content with 1/2 a billion that I did nothing to earn.

Well, I'm heading out today to look for a Powerball vendor. I can't remember the last time I bought a lottery ticket, but 1.4 billion dollars is just too tempting. Big Grin And I had a dream about fire last night, which is considered really lucky in my culture.

I think lots of us bought tickets. Now to see later of anyone wins the grand prize this time around.

I know I have my tickets. Can't even imagine that much money.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Well, you have to work up to it by starting off small and then going further as time progresses.

I laugh at what I started off walking and that was my walk. Now unless I do a lot I don't feel like I have accomplished a decent walk.

I have a few ??? about the Plants Lists I have started moving over my Plant List from DG. There is a box to be check that reads
"Show QR codes for each plant" anyone know what this means?
Also I like that that you automaticly get a picture from the Plantsflies but is there anyway that I can add my own pic? I don't see where I can exchange their pic for mine.

Holly, I'm not sure because I've never used QR codes, but I think it has something to do with your smart phone being able to scan it and convert it to the url of the plant entry in the db or display some other related information about the plant in your list. @SSG is more familiar with smart phones than I am so she can probably confirm or let us both know what they are really for. As for the photos, if you have added a photo of the plant into the plant db, it will display your own photo in your plant list, otherwise it will display whatever the first photo is that was put into the plant db.

So, first I put a photo in the data base and then I put it on my list? And THEN I get an acorn??

Are the photos I posted in threads at DG mine to copy and repost here? Anyone know?(I don't have any photos in the Plant Files, only on a few threads from some time ago)

Mariposa, you don't need to put a photo into the database to include a plant from the db in your list - it is just if you have, it is your own photo that is displayed as the thumbnail in your list. Also, you only get acorns if your photo is the first photo posted in the db for that plant, or if it is the first photo of the kind (i.e. bloom, habitat, leaves, seedlings, overall plant, etc...) posted in the db for that plant.

I think a lot of people are having questions about what they can move over from DG and what they shouldn't in case of copyright laws. I don't know so don't want to even speculate on an answer for you. @Dave, is this something you can weigh in on?

Mariposa, I am not actually removing anything from DG. I am leaving my plants Journal in DG. I may have been unclear when I said I was moving my list. I meant that I was just using the info in my DG journal it to build a new plants list here. I am using copy to pick up names of plants and notes that I have in my DG journal and then paste into my fields in the new ATP Plant list.

We are thinking of going to farm show early tomorrow. One of Holly's comments, "We could eat there. " Hilarious! She also mentioned Maple sugar cotton candy. The farm show is lauded for their fine, fattening, artery clogging foods. Rolling on the floor laughing We have not been since we used to take the grands.

Holly, the QR code is for smart phones. If your smart phone has a QR code reader, you can hold your phone's camera up to the code and your phone's web browser will go straight to the ATP's plant info page for that particular plant. I don't see myself using this feature much, though.

Mariposa, you can do that in any order -- either put a plant on your list or post a picture in the DB first. You don't have to post pictures, though.

You get an acorn for posting a photo in the DB, but only if it's not a repeat of other photos that are already there. So if there's already a general photo of a dogwood cultivar, then post a closeup picture of the leaves or the flowers to get an acorn.

Any picture that you post online still belongs to you, so you can repost those pictures anywhere else. But you have to use the pictures that you have saved on your computer, instead of re-downloading the Dave's Garden picture that's on their website now. I hope that's clear!

@SSG, I saw the movie 'The Martian' just now - it was on PPV. Absolutely fantastic movie, and I thought of you. I'm sure you've already read the book and probably saw the movie in the theater Smiling I'm not sure what I was expecting, because I didn't read the book nor did I see any of the previews, but I really enjoyed it.

On the acorns for photos:

When you post a photo, there's a list you check off of what type of photo it is--eg, bloom, leaves, etc. You get an acorn the first time you post a photo to *one of those types* for any plant database entry.

So, if I post multiple photos of my pink flowering dogwood, I'll get an acorn the first time I post a blossom photo, the first time I post a leaf photo, the first time I post a landscape photo of it, and so on for that entry.

If it is *the first ever photo* of the plant, then you get 2 acorns.
