Guilty as charged. Still, I find it interesting, if not exciting to have a plant (and a blooming plant at that) that no one has ever seen before. You don't have to go to the Galapagos Islands to find one-of-a-kind plants. Darwin would be proud.

Elaine, I would have to bookmark that post or at least write down the idea somewhere. At my age I have these great ideas then when the time comes I forget all about them. Last spring I ordered 3 new EE's for a specific spot. By the time they arrived I had no idea where that spot was. Nothing made any sense and now I have 3 large plants with no where to go. and

Are you plagued with Chamberbitter down there? It started appearing about 10 years ago here and it is a major pain in the fanny. It drops hundreds of seeds which stay viable for 6 years. Regular, even extra strength, RU does not touch it although I have found the RU QuikPro with a bit of blue dawn works.

I'm sure I've seen it, but as far as my yard is concerned, amongst the dozen or so major weeds outside my window right now there's no Chamberbitter. Maybe it can't compete here? I have many tall weeds that I "let go" in the summer for the butterflies - porterweed, pink salvia, Spanish needles (bidens) and of course the milkweed. They're all tall. Hence the "jungle" effect I have going on right now.
That being said, I have no lawn and mostly shade under oaks, so possibly it's growing in people's yards that have lawn and more open sunny area.

Ha! I am down to two citrus trees and I am keeping an eye on them. I covet their real estate and have big plans after their demise. I've gone from depression to excitement.
Alice, I'm plagued with balsam apple and skunk vine. They must grow a foot each day.

Wow, wow, wow. I waited 25 years to see my first Plumeria seed pods grow (last year) from one of my plants, and I was so proud.
Yesterday, I finally got caught up with shipping plants and today was spent in my "Plumeria Patch". I fertilized, up-potted some, and staked some. While doing the chores I found three plants with seed pods. One has two, one has four, and one has twelve pods. Happy days are here again.
Can you see the twelve in photos 4 and 5?

Ken, you must have the perfect pollinators for those plumies. I suspect you keep the pesticides to a minimum which would allow the little bugs to have their way.

I use practically no pesticides or any other "cides" for that matter. You ought to see the honey bees on my bunching onions, all of which are in bloom. Even my wife came out to the solarium this afternoon and remarked how many bees we had. She said she was listening to a garden show on talk radio that very afternoon, and they were lamenting that there were so few bees left to pollinate. She said this "expert" ought to visit our back yard. My wife is so smart.

Epiphyllum strictum opened last night and was still open this morning.
My Epi oxypetalum had a couple of blooms when we were not home to enjoy them. But both plants are now budding with a vengeance, I see tiny buds just starting, which means they will probably bloom inside.
