Another little bell on my variegated Abutilon. This plant is a terrible tease as it grew like crazy to more than 7ft. but has only put on about 3 blooms.
These blazing Billbergias are putting on an encore this week.

Oh WOW, that is a show. Impressing since everything is so washed out here. That Brom tree is going to be amazing when it starts blooming.
Jim, the rose in your first picture, red flowers, twiggy growth, do you know the name of that one? It looks a lot like an antique one I have called Slater's Crimson China.

That plant is on the North side of the house where we don't have an entrance. Fo some reason we just don't get out on that side. All it gets is water twice a week from the irrigation system. I couldn't get the whole plant in the picture. I was up against the neighbors bushes. I'll check out the leaves, Ken and let you know.
I wish I knew more specific leaf patterns for specific varieties, but the Celadine is the only one I know. Hetty clued me to that several years ago. Though I have four sub-varieties (or at least four different flower sizes/colors) of the Celadine, all the leaves remain constant.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
Just trying to catch up on this thread...what a huge variety of gorgeous plants everyone has!!!
Ursula, is that a cassia tree you have in your house??? It caught my attention because it looks like one I have in the ground here that must be about 10 or 12 feet tall!
Ah, now I know what you mean. No, it is Murraya koenigii/ Curry plant. I make Curry every so often and those leaves give it that special flavor. I bought it as a small plant and it grew into this nice tree over the years.

La Nina - that is the word being bandied around by the weatherman this week. That means we are headed for a warmer drier winter. I took these photos one year apart. The first is November 11, 2015. The second is from the same spot (my back step) today.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming...."WOW What a Ride!!" -Mark Frost
