xGraptosedum looks very possible Cliftoncat! 'FRANCESCO BALDI’ is possible (I really think probable Hilarious! ), I think that one is widely sold. I don't think it's either of the two you mention.

Brilliant, Janet - I think you may have done it again! Petal count is definitely a consistent five. My sole query is that my plants (we have them in several bits of the garden) spread horizontally and trail, but don't grow vertically - unlike some of the plants in the pics on your link. Do you think that's relevant?

If you look at the first photo of Francesco Baldi you will see a thick, mature stem trailing over the edge of the stand. Many of the plant photos show younger plants which will go vertical before dropping, they will be in different light conditions too.

Leslieray, yours to do yet! x Sedeveria 'Blue Giant' certainly shows a good likeness ..

http://www.sedumphotos.net/v/s...

On the Crassulaceae site Blue Giant is under XGraptosedum. The flowers can have 6 petals and from what I can see there can be some reddish colouring on the petals. I think this is somewhere close, if not the one.

Leslieray, see the photo linked to below. The stems lengthen with leaves along the stem. I can see a stem like that in your photo to the left of the flower head which is laid on the ground.

Leslieray, look at xGraptophytum Alfred Waltemyer

http://www.crassulaceae.ch/de/...

xGraptophytum 'Supreme' .. flowers have 5 petals but they might have 6 too? The flower colour matches but the plants vary, one plant looks like yours.

Have a Graptoveria 'Pik Ruz' in my collection. It looks similar to the plant depicted in the first picture. Maybe my photos can help...

They are very similar Wolfgang!

The main difference I can see is the sepals, they are quite short on your plant where those on the original plant in question do match those of xGraptophytum 'Supreme' .

Put the photos together, you can see how alike they are. It does mention on the Crassulaceae site that xGraptophytum 'Supreme' is variable.

•As the photos show xG. 'Supreme' is a fairly variable plant much dependent on cultivation conditions

Well, I'm convinced! Janet, I am in awe of your sleuthing talents. Do you have a day-job as a private investigator? A homicide detective, perhaps? Big Grin

I have the power to make you fall under my spell. Hilarious!

No, I don't have a day job as a private investigator, but I was told by the CID I should have been one (due to my efforts in getting a car thief arrested).

Having spent the last 10 years or so investigating all manner of plants and insects/bugs, to the extent I have been named a Terrier, my skills have been honed. You can develop 'the eye' if you spend enough time doing it, and are determined enough not to fail, and to get it right. All Terriers will know. nodding

Whew what a long and informative thread! For starters the six petal thing completely threw me as I had not even noticed. The rest of the flowers look to just have five. xGraptophytum 'Supreme' is the closest thing suggested so far and I've looked at lots of pics of it out there for comparison. Here are the pictures of my two plants today. The last one shows the the leaves all the way up the flower stem. As for the Echeveria NOID I'm not sure 'Blue Bedder' is the one. Thank you all. I tip my hat to you.

LeslieRay, Look at Echeveria shaviana hybrids also. There are some with similar markings and some hybrids with E shaviana have red blooms like E Black Prince,( E shaviana X E affinis)

Echeveria Afterglow? The flower colour seems to match, maybe the colour changes. The margins of the leaves don't look so wavy on Afterglow and the plant appears to have a more cupped shape.

http://www.succulents.us/echev...

https://www.google.co.uk/searc...

Echeveria shaviana Pinky which is generally more ruffled on the margins...

https://www.google.co.uk/searc...

http://www.karacactus.com/eche...

I see a likeness to Echeveria gigantea .. I don't think the flowers behind it belong to it.

http://crassulaceae.net/echeve...

There's a lot to explore, the 'list hybrids' is one to look at.
