Here's a picture of the highchair I rescued from the junk pile at an auction. I know some of you have already seen this but thought this was a good place to post it Smiling The plants in the pot don't look so great, but the chair still does Hilarious! Hilarious!

Thanks Sharon! I had peas planted on the sides, which is why I put the strings on it, but our little resident cottontail, that lives under the neighbor's shed, keeps eating them. They weren't doing great anyway, with the weather the way it has been this year, and I don't think they get enough sun there either. So next year, will try something different. Rolling my eyes.

Thanks everyone! That chair is maple, and I knew I wanted it for a plant stand in the garden, but couldn't decide how to paint it. The color it is now was the 3rd paint job on it, lol! I thought first bright colors, but when I got it painted, I hated it, so then went with a really bright green and yellow, and didn't like it either, so ended up painting it the 3rd time. Hilarious! Hilarious! I really don't know how you guys get your projects done so quickly! Big Grin Once it was painted, I just kept looking at that kick plate, and it was just begging for something there, so I painted that with the grandkids in mind. They need to get involved with gardening, so wanted something they could relate to, even tho they can't read yet! Hilarious!

Went out to work on my chair project while waiting (and waiting and waiting) for return phone calls. Glare Dragging a chair around for a few years, sitting plants on it and watering them, proved to be a great thing in this instance. Thinking I would have to get out the Sawzall to remove the seat, I found it rotted sufficiently so as to be able to pull it out by hand. Temporarily stuck the old enamel pan in it while the Swiss Chard is still growing. Once the Chard is done (it will take on new life and growth as the weather cools), I most likely will go ahead and plant the pan with the succulents and ? and put it back in the chair seat. It will sit flat with its handles holding it nicely in place (how convenient is that?) if I want to shave just a little off the wood where the front legs are joined to the chair. The old pan had very rusty spots in two places in the bottom making it easy to take a big nail and hammer and "create" drainage holes. This is too easy. Title this project, "Lazy Man's Garden Art".

Now if I would have remembered to move the Tidy Cats container out of the shot. Rolling on the floor laughing It's actually holding Elderberry bushes waiting for rain so the ground will be soft enough to plant. What can you do? Rolling on the floor laughing
