Gigi, anything that expands the tax base works for me. Since shands and UF pay no taxes, we are not only strapped with the most expensive electricity on the planet, but also have the highest taxes in fl, bar one county. Im all for letting others give us homeowners some help. Im sure I will also use the stores, even enjoy some, but the traffic, ooooo the traffic. Thank goodness for I 75, or this would be getting way way to close to my house.

I think my "hosta" is not a true hosta but it looks close enough to me. Hilarious! It's an African so takes more heat & sun than the normal hostas. Actually, up here, I think I could grow hostas but they need shade, plus moisture & that is something very hard to come by for me. The best I can do is partial shade part of the day.

Here's some of what's blooming for me now.

Wow Ann, you have a lot blooming up there. My pink azaleas are still blooming and the blush ones, just started this week. Guess they are late bloomers.

I have some crepes that are putting on new leaves. Some small ones I planted over by the large pond are putting on some leaves as well. I bought them as tiny tots about 3-4 years ago. The were all supposed to be red bloomers. Don't know about that yet. We'll see.

I was looking to spend some time out today taking pics and posting them, but this t-storm is warning to be here til 1:00 today. Any of my roses aiming to bloom will probably ball up over this.

I do have about 4 amaryllis buds on their way. They look to be red maybe. They have been a bit stunted over the past 3 years since power co. tree trimmers came and dumped a truck load of mulch on their bed. I had to dig the mulch up and spread it on the driveway, closest place to put it in a pinch. The next 2 truck loads they dropped were put in better places for access. Next time I volunteer to take free mulch, I will have to put up signs for the plant dummies. Even that may not help. I have specifically instructed workers where they can walk, they will follow me, then on the way back, stomp right through the flower beds and say "I know what I am doing".

Except for the power company, anyone who has a key to my gate knows where to walk.

Lovely gals, lovely!!!

I think we all know what you mean Molly. It's almost as if by telling them where NOT to walk, drive or dump stuff they become determined to walk, drive or dump stuff exactly where you told them not to! Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling

I forgot the amaryllis. Those bud stalks grew 4-5 inches overnight and I saw new ones that weren't there yesterday. These have been blooming around the area for a few weeks, but here at my place, they are right on time...April

Mine too but I didn't take a picture but similar to yours Ibis. other blooms in my garden.

A rescue Bougainville that my neighbor gave me 3 years ago. It blooms a few times each year for me. It was shaped like a vine but I stake them and now they look like mini-tree. I keep them trimmed.
