Neal - I was really pleased that it's coloring is so vibrant. If you are familiar with the Doctor then you will understand why I ordered Torchwood this year! It is a bright fuchsia. Smiling

More rainy pics!

One Of A Kind - jury is still out on this one. I like the idea of the veining on the standards, but this is almost too much.

I LOVE my One of a Kind. It does not photograph well and I had to take many shots before the veining would show. It looks gorgeous beside other dark purples and lavenders. Mine is planted next to I Feel Lucky and they make a nice show.

Great blooms gals/guys!! I had a small bloom and awesome learning season.

I now am entering my sophomore season of this process and owe you all dearly from advice and tips given. My 2016 bloom season personally sucked, but that's ok. Im now in the drivers seat for possibly better success next year and this fall if REBLOOMERS act right.

I'm now and almost finished with the transfer of potted plants to the garden areas. The cull-a-thon has also already started.Less fertilizer next year too I've learned or think. Almost all cultivars bloomed, but the rot was my mine issue and am battling it more now than before, luckily they're isolated in pots. Didn't help from the rain we continueosly received this winter thru now. Irises really the natural ground though it seems.

I'm excited and anticipatING success for the next season. I have rhizomes, seeds, seed pods and two locations to play with. Cheers to now, the great pics, stress, and planning for next year. Thumbs up

Ps. In the next week or so I'll be tree mailing some of you share confirmations from my end. Thumbs up

It's an ongoing education Gabe. I think that most of us are perennial sophomores in that regard. Just when you think you've got a handle on it all, Mother Nature throws you a curve ball or two. Glare

I'm sorry that you've had to deal with rot -- at least I had thirty or so seasons behind me before having to deal with THAT. Angry

Maybe it's better to get it out of the way early on.

These were growing on the Oregon coast. Wild Iris. Wild Succulent. Wild Yarrow (those are my honey's hands). Wild Lupine (shrubs here).

Pacific coast iris are hard to grow even here on the Pacific coast. And yet they thrive in the wild. They just don't like to be moved.

Some of the ones that bloomed for us.

It is amazing I never came across any wild iris while I was doing archaeology in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. I spent lots of time in wilderness areas. They may have bloomed too early. Sighing!

Carl - beautiful pics!

There are a few iris in my garden that are staples. Ones that I would always replace if I needed to and could find them. Here are a couple.

First up is Michigan Pride. Grew up in the mitten, it was a no brainer. Always bright and cheerful.
