Try Batdorf & Bronson beans if you can find them in your area. Small company initially based in Olympia WA, now with a 2nd roastery in Atlanta GA. They take great care choosing their beans and roast within days of delivery. Delicious.

I, too, just discovered this thread.

I used to be an all day coffee drinker, with one last cup enjoyed just before bedtime, while husband ate his nightly bowl of ice cream. Over the last 5 or 6 years I have gradually dropped off to one or two cups in the morning. Now I have added a late afternoon iced flavored coffee, a sort of moment to relax while watching the evening news. I've always drank my coffee with just creamer, (I prefer powdered because it doesn't cool the coffee down), no sweetener at all, ever. So I never used the flavored creamers, but would indulge in flavored coffee at times.
Again, my tastes are changing, age related maybe? Who knows! I still want my morning coffee very hot, & with just creamer, nothing sweet, thank you! After I tried, and thoroughly enjoyed, a couple of Starbucks's bottled Frappuccino's from the grocery store, I figured I could make my own one heck of a lot cheaper, and have a much wider flavor variety. So now I almost always have several different flavored International Delights creamers on hand. Amaretto is my all time absolute favorite, but there are a number of others I like, too.
I like coffee strong and dark, I prefer Dunkin' Donuts' dark roast, or Community dark roast. I will get Starbuck's dark roast occasionally, but always feel I'm paying more for the name than the coffee. Folger's Black Silk is pretty good, too.

And that's the story of my coffee life! Sticking tongue out

Well my coffee from the above place arrived; I ordered a Chicory Coffee, a Sumatran Coffee and Kenyan AA, last two whole beans.

Well I got three chocolate flavored decaf bags of ground coffee.
I called them up and they said some else called them and told them they got something besides their chocolate decaf.
He said mine was on its way and when I asked if he wanted the others back, he said no.
I told him I do not drink decaf and he said give it to a church.
Sharon will use it at work as her customers like that flavored glop.

Mistakes happen. Sounds like the company made good on it all, so no harm (other than the delay).

The Chicory coffee was a bit of a disappointment, as it tasted more like straight coffee than the Chicory coffee I am used to; the Sumatran was good but no better than any other I have had; the Kenyan AA was very good, reminding me of how good it was twenty years ago.

My coffee consumption seems to have greatly increased this year as I am now within 30 days of being out of coffee and usually I have enough for six months or more.
I may try another one from them and I am thinking of trying the Kenyan from Batdorf.

Let me know how you like the Batdorf; I have a family connection there (my husband's cousin and her husband are the owners). They began roasting in Olympia WA but do more production at their Atlanta GA location now. I tend to add sweeties (Carolans, Baileys) to my coffee so not as much of an afficionado as those who drink it black.

I love coffee anything. But I am allergic to it. So allergic, doc has it in my Known Allergy file! Sad, huh? I ate one too many coffee candies during my mom's Celebration of Life thinking I could enjoy coffee flavor that way. It was mom's favorite candy, Kopt brand or something like that? I broke out the next day. Not hives, but like fire ant bite lesions.

Well my coffee from Bat Dorf arrived.
The Organic Whirling Dervish Blend is very good.
The Kenya AB, I have had better, but then it is only a medium roast and I am fussy.

The only coffee I have ever considered a waste of money was very high buck Blue Mountain I bought ten years ago.
Very high price , very disappointing.

Their beans were very dry.
I am not a roaster but have noticed over the years, the drier the beans, it takes more volume of ground coffee to get tastes I prefer.

I'm only good for a cup or so, and sweeten it with some sort of a Bailey's knock-off, so I'm not too discerning either. I do enjoy a good cup of black coffee now and again, but I don't have a picky palate for it. My cousin at Batdorf hires a taster (not sure what the exact term is) and she showed me a wheel chart of all the different 'flavors' that each bean or blend might have - way over my head.

My favorite coffee is the way my Swiss Gramma made it. This is the way I do it, because when Gramma made it, she made a ginormous pot, and I only use my little 6 cup stovetop corningware pot. I fill it not quite to the top (maybe an inch or so down) and when it is boiling, add 6 Tablespoons of coffee grounds to which you have mixed in well 1 egg. After the coffee/egg is mixed, put in the boiling water, take off the heat, give it a couple of swishes with a spoon, and let it set for awhile. When I pour into the cup, I usually strain it through a tea strainer. Yum............it will NEVER taste like road tar

I'm with you, Debbie! I'm totally spoiled. For over 52 years my husband has been up first, and always has the coffee made, and breakfast ready as soon as I'm up. I don't do mornings well, so this has been perfect.

You're very lucky. I try to have my coffee pot set up where all I need to do in the morning is turn it on.
