Welcome! stephanie!

there is a particular member on this iris forum who really loves burseen irises, and i'm sure she'll be contacting you soon as she sees your post!

i have very few burseen's , i am trying to decide which hybriders' irises do best in my climate but am limited by space. so my journey will take longer than others who can just grow and collect at will Hilarious! .

join in the camaraderie, you may find yourself collecting more than just burseen iris 😁😜 because they are all so addic..... beautiful.

Welcome! Stephanie!

Sounds like you may have more of Tom's iris than anyone on this forum, which is a great thing in my book! I have a few.. Whistling

I ordered Messy Jessi last year but it did not survive. I think the only place I have found it is at Blue J Iris.

My Blush Be Gone is almost ready to bloom too. Can't wait. You have been to his gardens I am guessing? Lucky you. Not sure if I have any you are looking for but shoot me a tree mail with your wants and what you have for trade. Smiling

I only have one Burseen - Digs which I got as a bonus from Stout. I think Texas irises may like the hot summer in Kentucky. I would like to get more just because of that and the hilarious names they have!

Maggie Beth fortunately is readily available. Many of his disappear after a few years. It is a beauty for sure.

@smyers817 that's quite a collection, stephanie. how can you not fall in love with the names as well as the hybridizer's humor? a big plus what interesting colors, combination of colors, and lots of extras (sa).

thank you for listing your irises. it was wonderful to see them all and to admire your garden shot(?), i am assuming in your avatar?

no wonder he has at least two big fans you and @lestv/leslie.🥰

Hello from Texas!
Hybridizer Irises Region: Texas
@shizen thanks....I am a Burseenaholic for sure! He lives about 25 minutes from me and every year I buy some of my irises directly from him. I am hoping to go next week to visit his garden to see some of his newest mad scientist creations. I love the whimsical crazy names he gives them and the crazy colors. I have made several crosses in the past 2 years with some of his irises and I am hoping to maybe have a few of them bloom this spring. I will post them if they do. Crossing Fingers!

I live right next to a pond so I like to take pictures of irises with the water in the background whenever I can. Smiling
