It is a pretty good choice if one is looking for a hardy one, an old tried and true cultivar. I have had it for 9 years now so it is a good one for those living at the edge of microphylla hardiness. It is rather spreading and not particularly tall for a microphylla.

Grumbling I need one zone higher!
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

I don't know, it is one to try in 6b. It is probably cold hardy in zone 6b as long as the garden is really well drained.
