In 2004, I saw an article in my weekly paper that showed a field of daylilies on the other side of my county....and they weren't just yellow and orange! I can still recall that wonderful feeling of when I first saw that field of colorful daylilies myself! I have many favorites, but here are a few.
My Heart Belongs To Daddy - My Daddy passed away in 1997 and this always reminds me of him.
Westbourne Oranges for Christmas - My Mama always talked about getting a bag of oranges under her Christmas tree. I'm sure that growing up in the Depression era in Kentucky, fresh fruit wasn't that plentiful. She remembered it fondly and that tradition continued throughout my childhood.....and even now.
Chicken on the Run - I just love that title, as well as the color of this daylily. It also reminds me of my grandmother who raised chickens....and dressed them. :0 I'm not talking about those concrete geese you put clothes on either. Nuff said!
Electric Mist - These colors almost seem like they are hooked up to an electric box. Growing up on a farm, you had to watch out for the electric fences. I got too close to one on a damp day, and these bright colors remind me of that shocking event.
Forever Redeemed - Thanks to the blood of Jesus, I am Forever Redeemed!
White Eyes Pink Dragon - This beauty was a gift from Lisa T. of Ohio back in 2009. It had only be registered in 2006 and it was beyond my daylily funds. I had made a comment to Lisa about WEPD and she graciously sent me some of hers. Lisa's generosity continues to prove that daylily people are some of the nicest people.
Thanks for listening to me ramble on.
