My brother Butch sends me feathers that I find in places no feather should be found ..
And so I save those on the back of this flying lady. That explains the feathers..

But what I wanted to show you is what I have done with a paper towel holder and a toilet tissue holder and a squirrel feeder. I thought you lovers of all things glass ( and other small pretties ) might find the tissue holders interesting as display props. Please excuse if these are repeats. We always have new folks joining and so thought I would include

The two holders were hand wrought by a local blacksmith in Saluda.. unfortunately he moved out ..I need to track him down because he was very inexpensive ..these things cost so much $$ nowadays

The two things on the table are a candle holder for the prayer tree and a chime with a pottery feather made by a local potter.. that chime is new not recycled

The last is a photo of the prayer tree ..I added the two top highest crosses just last week

That are all Beautiful! Such great ideas! I love the idea of a prayer garden. I guess I never thought of my garden as a prayer garden but that's exactly what it is. I have roses that I've named after family and friends. I even talk to them (not out loud tho) lol. Like when Alice lost most of her leaves. I told her she should be ashamed all naked in the front yard! So thank you All for making me appreciate my garden even more!

Talk away..

I have hung a great big mellow sounding chime that when it "speaks" its musical notes talk back!

Rosie, I've said it before and it still goes; you have some amazing and very creative ideas. And while I really like all of the creations, I really love that painting of the man (leaning on a staff) in the 3 photo.

Funny thing about that painting.... ( I like it too captures so perfectly the rawboned farmer .I imagine him working a piece of hardscrabble land ..or an irish tenant farmer .. I know he has a smoked down butt of a cigarette in his pocket that he is saving for later.

My granddaughters walk by him VERY FAST .. Bella the youngest looked at him and said "I Love you!! I REALLY do! " Sophia -her older sis- said "Bella! You do not! Why did you say that?" Bella said, "Shhhh I dont want him mad at ME sissy! "

Rosie, you really are creative! I love everything you do, and love the hanging balls displays. I have a lot of different pieces of blown glass that could be used that way. I just never thought of it! Lovey dubby

I attach high in a doorway, suprisingly nobody crashes ..
I had those wrought iron toilet and paper towel holders from when the house was more country ( remember the mauve and blue days? ) they were handmade and I just got a brainstorm one day .. I too never knew what to do with my glass balls .. surprisingly they dont get dusty

I haven't been on here for awhile so I thought I'd post. This morning when I was going out to the garden to do some tidy up work I spotted my little wire fence garden edging that I found in the trash last year.

Someone threw out a whole bunch of it and I was getting things ready for a sale, so I took some shipping crates, the kind that come with new appliances) and painted them out in soft colors and then attached a piece of the fence on each side, kind of like a little gate or a shutter on a window effect. I made a little country gingham check valance to put on the back at the top so it shows through to the front like a valance on a window and I added eye screws and picture hanging wire to hang the finished product on the wall. I made 4 total.

These turned out so well. So no camera here, and no cell phone. But I wanted to throw this craft out there in case any of you are still selling crafts. This would be a good craft for a garden shed, kitchen, or entry hall. You can put wooden clothespins that have been dyed with coffee stain on them to make a memo board. I added pegs, (I handcrafted those pegs) to two of them to make coat/hat racks. One of them I decorated by adding old flatware to the front to hold dried flower bundles, or kitchen gadgets. They all turned out so well and it was a breeze to make them.

So the next time you see someone throwing away the little wire garden edging don't let it go to the big landfill. Turn it into something useful. Peace & Plenty. I tip my hat to you.

The last owners of our getaway cabin left an old rocking chair. Clearly not a child's chair, but waaaaaay to low to the ground for either of us to sit in. So I removed the seat bottom (which was rotting out under the fabric), painted it blue and set some plants in it. I'm going to replace the succulent with a variegated spider plant I have potted down there when it gets a little bigger.
