I've been photographing wildflowers for several years now and a few of these were first for me.

How nice, Jay. I wonder if the weather has been right for them to spring up. It looks like we're going to have a very flower filled year. Right now we're having plenty of April showers and I sure hope to see all the May flowers.

@Horntoad, what do you think brought them out this year? Surely you have had as much rain as this year. Is it the combo cooler and wetter, do you think?

If you are talking about the ones I saw for the first time, I think it's just a case of being at the right place at the right time. Some are fairly uncommon or hard to see and may have a narrow window in which to view them. I do think the rain and mild winter will be beneficial to the wildflowers this you though.

I think in order to catch the wildflowers of an area--
you need to hike through the area every few weeks.
Nature is always changing.

The Indian blankets are covering the pastures and along the highways soon to be wrapped up . I always regret that time because the only thing left after that is the cabbage that's taking over our part of Texas
Once in s while you'll get a peek of the sweet verbena
I'm appreciating what's left while they are here😊😊😊

I know we have a large umbel flower growing along many of our highways nowadays - not sure of the name. Maybe Queen Ann's Lace. But our small town roads still display many wildflowers which really is nice to see. I always enjoy seeing what is growing as I drive along the roads. If you ever got stuck driving behind me, you too can enjoy them instead of getting mad because I'm driving too slow. Hilarious! Smiling

I would love to drive behind you and the person behind me can get mad at me, Thumbs up Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
I get obscene hand gestures all of the time, even if I am going the speed limit or in the right lane. I love to look at all of the flowers!
A dear friend ask me to drive thru the hill country with her to see the flowers , she was driving so fast and no one was around on the country roads. I finally had to say..."why don't you let me drive and you relax" Hilarious!

A new to me wildflower is starting to sprout from seeds sown last fall. Lighting is bad since I'm still trying to figure out my new camera..
