Since Daughter of Stars is a rebloomer, you might want to plant it by itself so you can give it the extra fertilizer and water without affecting the others.

Hey guys/gals! Finally wrapping up #'s for 2017 what turned into me only buying 10 rhizomes got thrown out the window in one order alone, not a shocker, lol. I've added 213 varieties through gifts and purchases for the ending season. Of that 192 were new varieties for me. Of all that survived I currently have 169 remaining and still in pots. That still makes me iris nuts to some degree. now it's time to update my inventory on the site. That's gonna be fun...
Gimme it and I'll grow it!

me, too, liz and barbara. i really love flared falls.....tho' many don't. i really enjoy them in arrangements, for that very reason.

the drooping falls remind me of a wilting flower. however, in the japanese iris the drooping falls were bred to be viewed from a distnce, and the flared ones were to be viewed from above. so i guess the same 'theory' could be applied to the bearded iris, as well?

So Gabe, I am curious...When you bought your new house, did you buy extra land for planting Irises. It just made me giggle in the past when I hear that people on some of these chats actually go by property just for their Irises. I just wondered if that was on your real estate wish list when shopping for houses.

Isn't it gorgeous!

And I almost passed up Passionista- a recent Blyth. Iris Sisters isn't showing a photo, and none in our database - but after looking it up online, I was hooked!

Thanks for letting me know that my recent 12 will go on next year's
total, Barb. I'd missed that.

Elsa - Land for irises was very much a part of Gabe's buying choice. He looked at a lot of houses!

Thanks for the kind words, folks! If I remember rightly, Passionista was one of those irises that opened just on the morning of the day I was leaving for France, so I felt lucky to get a photo of it!

And it still makes me smile that people love this flower (well and of course gardening) enough to have that on their real estate wish list.
