Carl, I have some Sparks Fly if you want some. It's really a good grower.

What is all the greenery surrounding Chubby Cheeks? irises don't like their rhisomes covered.

Woops. Wrong photo. That is Russian sedum. I'll find Chuby Cheeks when I get home. I do have a lot of sedum Anglina that does cover the roots of Spark's Fly and it doesn't seem to bother it, but I do try to pull it back a little from the rhisomes.

I thought this was Cat's Eye, but the color looks wrong until I see it in photos, now I'm thinking it probably is. Do any of you notice a difference in color in pictures?

Me too. And it is a unique little guy with nice size blooms, color and growth habits. And it seems to like all zones. My kind of iris!

Do those of you who grow Cat's Eye find the color looks deeper in person than in photos? It looks brighter and more rose color in the standards in the pics, but appears more burgundy and wine in person.

Neal - I think Cat's Eye often photographs "pinker" than it is. I have had to work to try to get true color photos of it.

I have a mini opening, should be open enough for pictures tomorrow. My little Pussy Toes is often the first of the season. This warm weather has lots of puffy blooms bulges showing up on my little guys.

A purple pumila species is in bloom today. MDB 'Blue Doll' is planning on opening in a day or two.
