Aw, your laundry day companion! I miss having cats. We used to have them I loved having Burmese kitties, but my husband is allergic to them. Sad

Karen When I was younger my mom kept Persian with pedigree ,, I love the pets , but ,, Sometimes it gets to be too much , These are all feral that adopted us , I will keep a few as some here have heard ,
Mingles the black and white common feral is getting tall , not sure how big he will get , Kilimanjaro the gray and white is a heavy short bodied cat , mingles is long and tall , Camo is a wild cat with different length of tail and he can spin his ears 180 degrees forward or backward from the usual position , He can actually turn his ears inward and point them at one another ,, it's different ,
He is still kind of wild after all this time , as he ages he may become difficult to handle ,

You should try to get a video of the spinning ears! That would be a riot! Bless you for taking in the ferals. Where we live now the ferals don't last long. We have too many critters and huge raptors around. All cats have to be indoors only.

Karen We have large Hawks yesterday one came down beside the roadway as we were driving past , Caught a mouse ,, The an hour later I came home driving into the driveway and Mingles was at the other end carrying a mouse ,
I have had large hawks land on the mailbox watching kittens , I have seen them swoop past grabbing Birds , cats , and squirrels from the top of garbage cans ,
Have seen a tumbling Peregrine pick a squirrel from the trees crashing and breaking small branches and claw filled coming out 6 or 8 ft off the ground from huge trees
Most of the other Coyote and Bobcat and such are a long time gone from here The National forest still has them though , That's a distance from here. One season I did see a small Mountain lion though but that has been over a decade ago

oops , Thank you about the critter care ,, they obviously fill me with amusement once in a while , some fun ,,

I'm glad you still have the large birds. They have to eat, too, so I don't blame them. I'd just keep kitties and small dogs inside. We are in a forested area with the coyotes, bobcats, bears, javelinas and tons of jackrabbits. Some of them are bigger than our dog!

I had to look up javelina , I know them as pecary , saw them in west Texas a while ago ,
You also have an animal that looks like a fox sort of , but larger , an endangered species of cat ,,sort of , I forget the name , but they categorize with foxes and wolves , A large unique animal looks like Lynx with fox fur to me , People ages ago called them a Redcat or something , Anyway there are a couple in the New Mexico native animal zoo ,
And it is good you keep a close eye on the pets as their outside time when possible , says you care for them also ,,

Yes, the javelinas are the feral pigs. Nasty guys who dig up gardens to eat the bulbs and roots of plants. I had to get a greenhouse, and next year will put up garden cages for plants I want to grow without their interference!

I'm not sure what cat that would be. I'll have to look it up. We have the bobcats, mountain lions and jaguar that I know of.

I suppose the point being really that basic info says you have 20 raptor species , including large predators , Doesn't take long for pigs to make a mess Confused , or raptors to give you a bad day . Grumbling
Love all the animals Lovey dubby , But would not like sharing my room with wolves or bears or any of them , Blinking D'Oh!
I saw the cat on an animal rescue show and have not seen that since , 20 raptors is a bunch Confused
Karen it may of been a small native jaguar , that is not usually an animal thought of with this country

That could be. Gardening is a real challenge with all of the animals, but we do enjoy seeing them. I've been thinking I should get into birding. We certainly have a lot of birds around.

Well it is nicer today and sunny so I took Lily to the dog park. Get there and no one on the little dog side and only three not very big dogs on the big dog side.

So we went on the big dog side. Lily ran some but not too much. Eventually dogs came to the little dog side and she kept looking by the fence so I knew she wanted to go over there and play.

Sure enough as soon as we get into the little dog side she ran and ran with the dogs there. So Lily had a great time and should have used up her energy.

That sounds like a great way to spend some time today, Rita! At the kennel where we occasionally board our dogs they have a play area and let small and large dogs run around together (with supervision, of course); Lisa, the kennel owner, says "if you want to give a big dog some exercise, put a little dog out in the play area with it." Big Grin

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I like the second one the best. I like the pose & the particular way he's looking up at you. I noticed something in that one that I've never seen before. He has a black cupids bow at the front of his lips - both upper & lower to make the cutest little cupids bow. Kissy lips! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby So cute!
