I know. It's too time-consuming to figure out all those websites out there in website land...how to find things, how to get it set up right, etc. TV Guide has a website and I had it all set up for me...just showed the channels I at least occasionally watch, everything worked good. I should have know better...now things there aren't working right. Grumbling

I had a telemarketer call me at work today. I got suspicious when it came up as a toll free number then again when she (after confirming me as Amanda in Paint with a bit of an accent) started in about owing over $3,000 for something. Ummm....I. Don't. Think. So. I passed her off to my coworker and she refused to talk to him and hung up. I meant to report it today but forgot to. Grumbling

@MISSINGROSIE I feel your pain with express scripts. We used to have it and every time our prescriptions were renewed we had to have a big conversation with them because we did not want "automatic renewal". Because we don't have a set schedule of where we will be at a certain time, we didn't want the automatic because invariably when it came time for a new prescription, we were never where they wanted to send it. Each time they always assured us that we were not on automatic renewal, however, we had this same problem....EVERY TIME. Crying

I know they need jobs too, but I totally hate telemarketing! Thank heavens for caller ID at home! Sometimes I just like to mess with them if I'm bored Whistling Whistling Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

I feel genuinely sorry for the people that are "trying" to make their living doing telemarketing. Disabled, etc. They are doing their best to be productive members of society. It is for that reason that when I do answer (which is seldom) I be nice. I usually tell them "thank you for calling, but I do not give to phone solicitations". It is a rare occasion when I am not nice. But, mostly I do not answer the phone if I don't recognize the number. And almost all the time they do not leave a message.

I agree Anna - the only time I mess with them is if they start becoming obnoxious or won't take a polite no for an answer - up to that point I am always polite.

I despise that kind of marketing ploy. When I see something or someone promoting themselves so rabidly it always makes me think of the saying, "Thou doth protest too much". It has the effect of making me run the other way FAST.

Years ago we had a telemarketer call to sell us house siding and told us our neighbors had given them our name that we would be interested. I confirmed with them it was actual neighbors - absolutely they said. Then I proceeded to let them know that it would seem strange since all of the neighbors for 2 block AND us, all had brick homes!!! They hung up immediately! Crying

Back in October (pretty sure it was on this forum) Susan @Tallulah_B and I had a conversation regarding knee surgeries and I said I would update on DH. Well he went to the doctor in Des Moines regarding inserting stem cells from his hip to his knee to rebuilt the cartilage instead of having a partial knee replacement. They said with the condition of his knee it would be a 2/3 - 1/3 chance it would work for him and insurance would NOT pay any and it's $7500 per knee! And if it didn't work he would still have to have the partial replacement and wait several months to find out that it didn't work!! He decided he didn't like the odds but he did purchase the knee brace they suggested to help pull the knee apart (working great for a little while) and then went back to his doctor and scheduled the partial replacement surgery for December 23. I am off work for 4 days then but it really messes up Christmas celebrations. We figured the knee was more important because otherwise it would be after the first of the year and he didn't want to wait. The grumpy part of this is that Susan had very kindly emailed me copies of the pre-surgery exercises to do and when I asked him last night if he had tried them he said no he hadn't even looked at it Crying I tried to explain how this would help his post surgery pain and he said his doctor would give him something the end of November and he would wait Grumbling Grumbling I fail to see why starting now would hurt and not help other than he just doesn't want to do it Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling So I'm thinking that if he complains too much after surgery I'm not sure how good I'll be about possibly saying that had he done these exercises like I suggested that he might not be in as much pain Sighing! Sighing! Sometimes he is just so darned stubborn Confused Confused

@legalily He's an adult, and if he chooses not to do what's best for him, then you can safely shrug your shoulders and say "oh well - tough beans!!" Stubborn is, as stubborn does.......
btw - my hubby does do some "Y Chromosome" stuff, but when he's trying to heal, he does follow the Dr's suggestions. Your DH is just being lazy, is all. Waiting until Maxwell's Silver Hammer hits him with the info, rather than asking (no, men Don't ask for directions Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing )
It's you I feel badly for, not your DH Whistling

btw - glad I was able to send you the exercises, and you've done all you could, in giving them to him - nuff said!!

I was telling my coworker this morning about the call I got yesterday. I told him if I got another one like that then I was gonna change my tone and tell them they actually called the police dept and this was a number that was set up to catch people like them and would they like to leave their name and number so we can hunt them down????
