What a fun outing, Sally; I would love to have a place like that near me!

Critter, it sounds like you had a busy, but probably emotionally relaxing vacation....and the plants made great souvenirs!

My niece and sister are still in Chile; sister will be there for at least 10 more days, but I doubt my niece will leave voluntarily any time soon. Her surgeon is very pleased with how the incision has healed, but doesn't have his permission to start P.T. yet.

That does look like a good deal for the sheets, thinking about getting the silver set, that way the cat hair will blend in, it really shows up on the burgundy sheets I have now.

@Sallyg, the place I'm caretaking comes with use of a two person kayak. Do you all have a kayak or did you rent?

Love tuberose! Had some about to bloom, but the deer found them first! Who knew?

MariposaMaid, we have an inflatable one. It's not exactly sleek, but it's very portable, storable, and stable on the water.
Plant it and they will come.

When we go to OBX in Oct. I plan to shop for a used two seat kayak. They can be so useful. If Holly doesn't go I have room for a cooler and fishing gear Hilarious!
While mowing last eve, I ran into a nest of yellow jackets Grumbling 2 Benadryl and a beer helped,, but today I feel the histamines at work, funny what wakes up arthur. I need to water then find those suckers. I love biodiversity except for jackets and paper wasp. Death to the aggressors. Grumbling

Oh no RIc!! Scary and painful. I have no sympathy for yellow jackets nesting where we live.

Today I dug into my fall-leaf compost piles to add dry browns to my summer compost. There are lots of ants in the leaves. I shoveled the leaves into a bin and then hotfooted it over to the other compost, to dump before the ants started crawling out on me. I thought that would be a good event for a Summer Olympics of Gardening- the 25 meter No Ants on ME Dash.

What would you call your yellow jacket event, Ric?
Plant it and they will come.

I once put my arm onto a mud dauber wasp ground nest. Talk about nasty and the thing was, it took me a minute to realize what was happening. According to the doctor in the E.R., I was stung at least 40 times. Thank God I wasn't allergic Hurray! .

Hi finally home. I had a great time camping with a friend for a long weekend. Headed out Thursday afternoon came home this afternoon. Poor Ric is still in rough condition. These bee and wasp stings sure do a job on him. Serious body aches, joint, and muscles. His leg is still swollen, he was asleep when I got home he got up twice just to get a drink and crawl back into bed.
Life is Great! Holly

Sounds awful. Can the doctor provide anything to help?
