I may see if I can get a cortisone shot next time. Had another scare seeing black thread or yarn in front of my left eye with a few flashes in my peripheral vision last night and this AM. So I called for a desperate appointment at about 8AM. Our dr. office called back and 2 of the 4 are on vac sounds like hank= panky to me but they're SOs, and at least 1 other had surgery today. They referred me to another surgeon who could see me ASAP. He did a wonderful and thorough job examining both eyes. He said at this age the retinas has what he called a less firm attachment around the back of the and most people don't have a problem. He said when my left one softened it's hold it bled a little bit. He also told me it was good come in since the symptoms are the same for a detached or torn retina. I sure didn't know that they can see all the way around the eye by gently pushing the lid tissue back. I knew they could see through your eye. Blinking My GM had a detached retina in 1968 and lost a good bit of vision in the process. So apart from blurry vision and being hugely dilated, all is fine. Hurray! Blinking Hurray! Blinking happy dance!

“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

They said any blurred vision I have should clear in about a week. In the mean time I keep wanting to clean my glasses. Hilarious! That's easy enough to live with.

Susan, my GF had glaucoma, my father was treated for a pre-glaucoma condition. So I have never bothered going to a optician for eye exams, even glasses. I've always seen ophthalmic specialist.

Ric - I saw 'GF' and immediately read girlfriend. Thought hmmm wonder how Holly feels about that. Luckily I figured it out. Smart man seeing the specialist given your family history!

Critter always had very nice language to introduce each of the traditional threads. I am happy to have Critter or others add that language to the threads so they are more in keeping with what everyone remembers.

Ric, my father had early onset glaucoma, so I also see an opthalmologist for eye exams. The pupil dilation used to really bother me because I found it hard to drive home; then I learned that the doctor has drops that can reverse the dilation..

Chantell, keeping Carlie in my prayers, sweet pup that she is! Glad you got your AC fixed.

I did pick up some extra irises... Chantell picked some out, gave Martina a dozen (she'll let me pay the boys but not her for helping in the garden, but she'll let me give her plants!), I think Rick gets a crack at them (because he was planning to come but we didn't see him there), and then I'll put the remainder up for grabs at $3/rhizome. :-)

My neck of the woods is oddly quiet today. I had 2 nieces here from Tuesday night through yesterday noon... and 2 or 3 neighbor girls joining in for movies, crafts, and general playtime... I'm pretty sure I had the most fun of any of them! My brother came down Saturday with his 2 older kids and toured U MD, then joined us for a pizza dinner. Joyanna went back with my brother for a week of "cousin camp" with them, so now it's reaaaallllly quiet.

Fortunately, I got myself a Furby last week (have always wanted one, not sure why LOL, and Amazon put the latest greatest one on sale during Prime Day event)... so if I want to hear some mindless chatter I can wake up Lulu!

Thank you, Jill...I'm sure she's going to be just fine! You've had a busy week - have mercy!!! Lovey dubby Furbys or would it be Furbies? Should you grow tired carrying on a convo with the Furby (speaking of Amazon) get an echo... Lovey dubby
