Is there really such a thing as a true blue azalea and where can I buy one ... my friend desperately wants one.

There aren't a lot of plants with truly blue flowers (unless you count those Phalaenopsis that someone dyes). Those Azalea flowers have been photo-shopped. The bluest one I know of is Blue Danube. Sorry!

Anne, my mother had a dwarf azalea when I was growing up that was called "Blue Tit" (after the bird, right?) It was a very nice dark lavender color, not truly blue. But really pretty and the size was a nice feature as well. Even at maturity, it was only about 3ft. tall.

No true blues, they may have blue in their names but they are all in the lavender purple range.
