I grew 'Big Pink' during 2012 in a container. Beautiful pink flowers.

It has rather oddly shapes flowers. I think I have had it for 9 years now so it is pretty hardy. Next to it is a rather large flowered raspberry colored seedling that is even hardier. Cuttings should be made this year on the Big Pink. Older clumps full of dead wood are more vulnerable to cold winter weather and I would not like to lose this one.

Ward

I hope you don't lose it. Mine died the same year I grew it (2012) because of the frost/freeze.

Naa, it is pretty hardy and growing strongly from near the base. It is just old and greggii/microphylla just don't age well and need to have new starts. The easiest and most effective way is to layer a branch or two in the summer. That works on all but the most upright forms.

WardDas---If you could supply the readers here what zone you are in, in your profile, people would know a bit more what "hardy" actually means. Confused

Hi Ward. I'm curious as to what you see as odd about the flower shape?

The lower flower petal is extremely large.
