We had a really severe drought, no rain from July 1st and still none here into October.
I have only watered about 3 times during this period.
J. heuffelii 'Elmo's Fire' seems to have come through in great shape.
The weather is finally getting into cooler day time temps (low to mid 70's) and into the 40's at night. The plants are very happy. Still no rain since Some time the end of June.
We might get some rain the end of this coming week. Keeping my fingers crossed.
No. I've had it about a year or so. The yellow and green heuffs take longer to recover from the Colorado winters. So they tend to look smaller than the brown or red heuffs.
Thank you Chris. But do you see all the cottonwood tree fluff clinging to the fuzzy leafed semps.
It was really bad, at one point it almost covered the semps, but a nice stiff breeze that lasted for two days, cleared most of it out.
Now that you mention it, I do see the cottonwood fluff. We get that too, but in the fall we get thistle seed from the field across the road from us and that covers the plants too. Only problem with that is I have to get it all out or it will make thistles. That's a real nightmare.
