Now this group is not oddly beautiful! Oh boy, some sad freaks in this bunch. Almost as sad as my only bloom on Sensationalizer is turning into. Guess it will be ANOTHER year before I get to see it. Sighing!

I will say that Burseen blooms are beauties, but Burseen chimeras are never pretty.

Here's my current odd garden iris situation. Anyone ever dealt with these??

Please excuse my grass clippings in the back ground just got done weed whacking between my iris rows.

1st one is undercurrent. Was growing amazing last year. This year not so much. Dug it up today and put it in my nursery bed so I can baby it to see what's going on. It seemed really compacted so I'm hoping that's all it was

Are the rhizomes still firm, to the touch ? or are they slightly "springy ?

@crowrita1 all still firm. Even dug them up and checked for any hidden rot. Nothing. Shrug!

The reason I asked, Jen, is your top photo looks just like the leaves of the iris I am 'loosing " to rot, but, if the rhizomes are firm, and the roots are white, and healthy looking, they should grow out of it . How does the height of the foliage compare to your other plants....does it appear 'stunted"?

Aryln it's super stunted and and curled up funny. I would not say all the roots look so hot. I removed a few that looked iffy. I have it in one of my huge holding pots so I can watch it.

If the roots are dry and withered looking....that's not a good thing ! You are probably wise to "isolate" it....and it might also be wise to try to "dis infect" the soil where it was growing (bleach water drench ?), or even try "solarizing" that spot .

The bleach water is on my list today! I was to tired yesterday to mess with it by the time I got done moving stuff around and cleaning up ect...
