Anyone care to take a stab at identifying this one. It has purple-based foliage. You have to look at the large photo rather than the thumbs here to see the details.

This iris is falsely operating under the name 'Port Wine.' Under most circumstances, I would be inclined to call this my labeling error ... except there are three separate clumps of rhizomes (and I did order three 'Port Wines').

The form looks like one of Ghio's to me.. 'Grand Classic' was a cross between one of Joe's and and of Rick's..

Could this one be Lunar Frost? Maybe not, your NO ID looks to have more color in the standards.

Sold to me from Brecks as Mother Earth but is not. Possibly Haut Les Voils. It is a rather late bloomer.

Marked from a sale as Blue Skirt Waltz but is not. It is very pretty but don't know what it is. Looks like His Royal Highness but does nor have pbf nor does it rebloom like HRH. The beard is yellow on the inside.

I'm not certain, but I think these are Keppel Irises... I've had several from him, and others, that are similar, but not right (Chenille, Back on Stage were a couple) .. But it lead me down a rabbit hole that came up with 'Suspicion', and 'Say You Will'... Hard to tell from your first picture, and cameras and lighting can be so variable.. but I think I'm getting close...

This was sold to me as Red Zinger, which it is not. It is shorter than a tall bearded, but not sure if IB or SDB.

janielouy, what is the iris in your nametag? Is that Big Spender? It's beautiful!

The iris that is my avatar is called Gypsy Geena. It is a beauty that I loved but it did not make it for very long. I think it is a Blyth and they generally do not do well for me. I just love that picture though.

Jane, Why do you think the first one is not Mother Earth? It looks pretty spot on to mine (not from Brecks)...

Thank you! I tip my hat to you.

I have been just sick with iris lust, and have just bought some brilliant blues and some purples. But I just love the look of an amoena/neglecta with an inky-blue falls. I love love the looks of Big Spender, Fancy Notion, Noctambule, Cleared for Takeoff, or Curb Appeal. But I'm relatively new to loving iris, and need something sturdy (I mean idiot-proof) for me.

I'm sad that Gypsy Geena didn't work out for you. What a looker! Drooling

Momma Fan, you probably would love either/both World Premiere and/or Global Crossing. World Premiere Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'World Premier') won the Wister medal in 2004, and is climbing up the annual TB Symposium popularity poll: #88 in 2018 to #70 in 2019.

Global Crossing is newer: Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Global Crossing') It won the Award of Merit in 2018 and should have competed for the Wister this spring in 2020 if only the convention had bern held. Global Crossing is not yet on the TB Symposium's top 100 popularity poll as of 2019, but since the photos I've seen of it all show it to form wonderful floriferous clumps, I am expecting it will make the top 100 list at the next voting.

I suspect that Global Crossing is probably an improvement in both vigor and floriferousness over World Premier. I have World Premiere, and it bloomed scantily for me last year, but not this year. Here are other photos of Global Crossing:

Can anyone else give us their impressions on these?
