This is Dragon's Lair, I had it once and it got choked out with a bad case of quack grass. I would like to get it again. It's an older one.

Something wrong somewhere. The Tall bearded "Dragon's Lair" according to the AIS description has yellow standards.

OK, I dug out my invoice from 2007 when I bought it, and although I had Dragon's Lair on that order, I also had Roman Lover on that order. So it's got to be Roman Lover. I do remember Dragon's lair now as having bright colors. Yellow and maroon I think. I did like that one too. Thanks for correcting me on that one IrisHart Now I have to get it taken out of the data base. Grumbling

Thunder Road is in no HIPS gardens at last inventory. It is however in Michigan after being rescued last summer from an obscure southern garden kept by an 80+/- year old. It has not yet bloomed and id has not been confirmed, but there is hope.

Is that why when I moved and replanted what survived I now find two clumps of Amas, Imperial Blush and Lodestar in the garden?

@DaveinPA, you have Lodestar? I would give teeth for that one!

@zencat, somewhat like this only pure blue beard? I watch for NOIDs all the time so if I see something similar, I will let you know.

Lori,
Will confirm both clumps when they hopefully bloom. I put your name in the file next to Lodestar, a neat looking one.

@DaveinPA either that is not Lodestar or there is more than one iris with that name. I was thinking of the one from C.H. Hall http://wiki.irises.org/bin/vie....

That one is really pretty and quite unique but not the cultivar I was thinking of.

You are so right; that is not Lodestar. Have to wait and see what shows up. I have noted that "Lodestar" came from Presby a few years back. So what is this one that is mixing it up for me? It did not bloom in 2014, but got what is shown above in 2015.
