For the life of me, I can not get any of my African violets to flower. What could I be doing wrong? They have water and I even speak to them on a daily basis. LOL. They just keep getting more and more leaves.

Are you using a high nitrogen fertilizer? This creates nice green healthy plants with lots of growth and no flowers.

Are they getting enough light to flower? Here is some info on getting them to bloom.

Have been growing one violet under a regular light bulb since early last fall and have watered it with only H2O2 solution. I use one tablespoon of 3% peroxide in 2 cups of water. When it is completely dry, I water it from the bottom until the top is moist, lift the pot to drain excess. The leaves are dark green and it has given me flush after flush of bloom. Don't know if this is a fluke or not, but my other house plants like the same treatment. Best wishes! Smiling
