When I worked in southern California here were papers taped to machines that had initials "BO" written on them. I finally found out "BO" was for "broken". Shrug!

I am not convinced with the "Chicasaw Sue" identification. CS has more white wash in the Falls than your NoID. Of the three suggested, I think "Apache" is the closest fit. My feelings is that the correct one has yet to be found/suggested.

There are three prominent "Dirty Plicata"* hybridizers that come to mind; Gibson, Innerst, & Keppel.

Yours looks like a Gibson. Lots of things effect the plants "stature" and coloration. which can make it harder to identify.

* Dirty Plicata = I am not sure this is in the lexicon of the iris world. I used this with Rick Tasco and Roger Duncan when they were touring my garden to describe a large swath of Sterling Innerst's work.

A plicata historically referred to to a blue/white or purple/white combo. I think that most iris folks would conjure up that color combination when someone said "plicata". Gibson was the first to start working on a large scale with different color combinations for plicatas. Innerst followed next with his own conbinations. Currently Keppel is carrying this torch, with a good amount of his introductions in the "area" being IBs.

Will you please help p us with the true name or a photo of the Apache you are refering to

That's the one. Thanks Arlyn! Not sure why I shortened the name. (I do work as a contractor for the Federal government and they LOVE acronyms).

This is a good starting point, but I think it might not be correct.

Look at the sticky thread at the top of the iris forum Robert and Cindy. There is a list of a lot of good places to get iris from.

Argyles Acres has a nice selection of old historics. Blue J Iris also has a very nice selection. Bluebird Haven is another great place. There are many more, but my mind is such mush at this time of day (now off to work I go)
